Arden Key, DL

Key was good for us but we already have a replacement for omehinu. Only way I see him back is if he doesn't get the money he wants and comes back to us to try to get a bigger payday next season.
I wanted to keep him, but let him walk. One year of production and nothing prior to?

I said he could sign for 1 year, 3 million and cash out big next year- and yes that comes with risk. Its his choice to make however. Hopefully the market looks at him unfavorably due to 1 good year. I figured we wouldn't be able to keep Key longterm. Just hope its we can get one more year.

We need to find the next Arden Key. Someone somewhere is mis-cast and would look great in our system.

It would be nice if we could keep him but he needs SF more then we need him. He did nothing with the raiders and had a decent season with us. It wasn't like he was a breakout star.

Hows Kerry hyder looking? And Hyder had a better season then key.

I think he's a 49er if ShanaLynch can convince him to give us a discount for his services. He did have a decent season, and hopefully he talks to Hyder and gets convinced to come back. He (i think) was on pace for a 9+ sack season if he could have replicated the 2nd half of the season in the first half of the season. Durability was a plus in my book and maybe he can expand his game to include an outside pass rush to add to his inside rush. He is still a young guy.

Sign him for a year and see if he can do it again.

Only way we get him back for cheap is if no other team gives him a big deal. There is nothing anyone can convince him otherwise. He will come back here for cheap because he can get the best production with us unless he gets a fat deal.

I'm confident we will find a bargain bin dline that will be productive for us

He might take a lower salary if its a longer term contract. My sales pitch to him would be, let Kocurek work on your game for three years, by then you might be all pro and get a 15+ million deal at the end of that contract.

Sounds good.
he did well for us but I honestly can't remember an oh-wow moment. I'm not sure what to spend. Less than 5? maybe 3.something and some incentives. I feel like jones omenihu then key and ebukam tied on the priority list, lukewarm but having him back is a stabilizer
I almost feel like this re-signing is a little more of a priority than it was with DJ going to Denver.

no way. dj was much more impactful in all phases. Key is a 3rd down specialist. He gets swindled against the run and can't hold an edge.

I sure hope not.
