Does this mean the team won't be signing Ronald Blair?

I thought we already did?

Not officially, but it's on the docket. However, Ford and Blair are injury prone and BIG question marks entering training camp. Bosa is still in recovery.

So here's our current healthly EDGE players: Armstead, Ebukam, Willis, and Barrett. In other words...1.5 EDGE players at full health. Armstead is a DT on passing downs. Willis and Barrett have not proven themselves.

I expect a Day 3 EDGE pick, but Key probably has higher upside than another UDFA player.

I might be wrong but I don't think they re-signed Willis yet??

They did immediately after Hyder signed with the hawks

I like this analysis!

Hopefully it works out.
Well there are two parts of free agency

Depending on how the draft goes they may want to pick up more guys off the scrap Heap who have been miscast and systems that didn't fit them
This guy has a ridiculous first step, crazy explosiveness and he ragdoll's quarterbacks. Powerful as well. If this guy gets better coaching which is a guarantee, he's going to do well. He was easily a top 10 player in college until his final season (2 time first team all sec ) He may play himself into the starting role. We got such a good deal with this guy and now he has a chance to play alongside very good players unlike the raiders.

He will replace what Dion Jordan gave us & Key is 7 years younger. You always have hope he's gonna be better but come on. All of a sudden Key is gonna become a starter? Well then we should have kept the #3 overall pick from the previous draft! Solomon Thomas! Same situation, both haven't played well, at this moment Key is a body hoping to make the team. I'm surprised we didn't sign Mo Hurts instead

A generation raised on Madden will do that Although it could happen due to injuries.

Swapped Thomas for Key. He's definitely an upgrade at edge.

Watching the highlights against Seattle has made my day.
He definitely won't be keyed on by opposing offenses. So he should get favorable matchups. But we said the same thing about Thomas.

i understand the super low bar we have with thomas.. but even if the guy does nothing but provide decent depth,,, i just have to believe we will get more out of him in one year than we ever got from thomas
I mean who was the last defensive prospect the Raiders drafted that you can remember they developed into a legit player? Nnamdi is honestly the most recent name I can recall.

Does Khalil Mack count? Not sure he was "developed," tho.

I totally forgot about him and honestly I shouldn't have cause he's a beast, touché!
