Saw some people question why we didn't have Trey out there and are, preemptively, wondering if he's not doing well in practice.

I'm like, for this season… Trey is our backup. When Shanahan sprinkles him in the game, it's because he sees a possible way to exploit the defense with his dual threat mobility. With how good the Eagles defense is, Shanahan probably (correctly) surmised that Jimmy's veteran poise is what we needed.

I don't know exactly where Trey is in his development and what packages Shanahan has set-up for him, but I have a feeling he would've struggled. That Eagles front 7 is tough.

GB is a soft landing spot for him.

Home opener. GB without their best pass rusher.

This wouldn't have been a great game to put him in. The first quarter and a half was pulling teeth moving the ball. Be kinda silly to bring in a cold QB in that situation. Hopefully we have an easier time against GB and he can get his plays.

I actually think that we could have put him on some plays.. ..
I'm not sure if Jimmy isn't suppose to throw the ball deep or just wont, then maybe we can put Baby Boy Lance to throw it deep...
again, there were times I thought we should have tested the middle of the field DEEP because Philly was just daring us to do it..

We all knew Trey was probally going to have to sit for a year, Even before he was drafted. So I don't know why everyone all of a sudden is up in arms acting all shocked at his lack of playing time. This is not news. It's why we kept Jimmy and us keeping Jimmy is why I believed we were drafting Lance. I know we all want to see our shiny new toy but need to trust then process. This is a longterm plan, Not a 1 year plan.

I would be disappointed if we don't see him against GB. If Shanahan's rationale for not playing Lance today is that it was going to be tough sledding and he could easily struggle, I understand. But then it would be appropriate for Lance to play against GB. I doubt strongly that GB's run defense is anything near what PHI has.

If nothing else, he needs to play in multiple formations and sets against GB to give Seattle's defensive coordinator something to worry and spend time game planning for.
