Throwing Trey in there was not going to help that, However you could argue that a spark from him may have been good. If he came in and did nothing or had negative plays than it could have been over for the offense.
Once we finally did get in a rhythm it was to late and we need to maintain that. I think we would have seen trey if we do not start with 3, 3 and outs. Even if it was move the ball to our 40 and punt then you can look for that spark. At that point you would have had close to 15-25 plays and 3-5 first downs. That is a lot different than 9 total plays half way through the 2nd quarter.
I posted before the Lions game that Kyle might use that game to show off some Lance to f**k with teams for the rest of the season...but in actuality, not use Lance again the same amount per game the rest of the year.
Trey Lance is Kyle's backup QB... if Jimmy gets hurt, Trey is the one who has been practicing this whole time..and would be the most prepared to take over.
You can't chance your Back Up Qb's health with Zone Read type plays.
Rhythm or not, the only time I see Trey get in there going forward is maybe redzone situations. And Jimmy has already gave a hint, he doesn't like when that happens.. which is understandable... Kyle might not push for that either anymore, if Kyle wants to keep Jimmy's confidence going.
