Jimmy is mediocre. Stop the BS, Kyle. Your ego is ruining this team as usual. GROW UP and play Lance as much as possible. He needs the reps. Telling him you don't trust him is a perfect way to destroy his self-confidence. If you don't play him this year, expect to be fired next...

What if Lance just isn't good? Should he still play him?
if Lance sucks we can always put him at Corner

Arguably no rookie QB has had a bigger impact on his team this season than Lance. His mentorship of Jimmy combined with the amount of time defenses have had to spend preparing for him might be the top reason we're 2-0 now. He should be in the lead for OROY.

We'll never know how good he Is until he gets some playing time. No point using all that draft capital on a development QB... With that being said, I understand why he didn't play him against the Eagles with how close the game was. I do expect to see him more of him throughout the year though.

The point was that we have a clear successor in place not that he's proven to have the ability of Lamar.

And I think you know that's what I meant.

He's supposed to be the successor, and Aiyuk was supposed to be a dominant #1 WR. What happens if Lance shows up in training camp next year and he's not any more ready to be an NFL starter than he was this offseason? Then what, you trade Garoppolo away just to trade Garoppolo away and go all in on a guy who might not be ready to start?

Plans change sometimes. I think it comes down to how much Lance progresses over the course of this year and whether or not he's ready to go.

I mean… it goes both ways. If the Chiefs kept Alex Smith another year you think Mahomes would have won the Super Bowl in 2019? Who knows? But there's certainly downsides to sitting Lance another season just the same.

Also.. the bolded is why many of us want Lance to start at some point this season. He just needs experience so that next year we can better understand his talent or lack their of.

If only there were records of the 49ers with Jimmy G and without him over the same time period we could prove this, but alas, these records do not exist.

Are you referring to the records we had with CJ and BDN as backups? If you don't think Trey is better than either of them I feel real sorry for you and what you're gonna go through for the next 10+ years.

Shanahan didn't think Trey gave him a better chance to win on Sunday. I trust his judgment.
No interceptions for Jimmy. He already made his teammates better. What a pro

Like Young said, SF showed the world what they think of Jimmy LT. They made the biggest move in franchise history to replace him.

I just hope these Jimmy truthers will go to bat this hard for Lance even if he's not playing well. I know I will be just as critical of him as I am every player

Same.

Jimmy Truthers, oh my

You guys always siding up.

This is going to get as pathetic as the Alex threads.

LOL
He gave away the farm for Lance. He will start him the minute he thinks he gives him the same chance of winning as Jimmy G.

Very impressive.

But the Pats literally won this week because Mac drew up the offensive and defensive game plans (he is still learning ST's) after breaking down film. Then on top of that he called the plays on both sides of the ball....from the booth no less AND played QB for 4 quarters on Sunday.

Mac currently should win OROY, League MVP and HCOY awards for his genius.

No you put the kid that you're pretty much tying your career to out there to improve and develop.

having a QB you spent 3 1st on not play any NFL games let alone any meaningful games since 2019

It's a sunk cost. If he can't even cut it in practice, there's no way you give away a starting caliber QB.
