Again, I was "start Lance Week 1".
I think at this point, there are two explanations for why he had snaps (first RZ opportunity no less) in game 1 and none in game 2:
1) the Lance package in game one served only one purpose - making other DCs plan for Lance but not really using him
or
2) Game to game scenarios, and there may have been a plan to play Lance last week (and this week), but the opportunity didn't present itself in Shanahan's mind.

That play was basically designed to go to Jennings, while Kittle being a decoy. But overall Jimmy has a done a good job this year going through different reads.

When did I say start him the 1st game? I never said that at all…I've said sometime around or after the bye would make sense. I also said if he doesn't start he should get snaps outside of a couple runs throughout the yr

I mean… if you doubt that at this point then I don't know what team you've been watching. Mostert was a special teamer, Wilson, Breida, Hasty, etc…. If the running game sucks it's hard to blame the scheme for guys that don't even know it being forced to play.
If anything it would be a compliment to the offensive line… for these newcomers they are probably being taught the terminology of strong side and weak side and which gap… then see hole and run through it. Not the nuances of each play.

That's probably one of the reasons he didn't get snaps against the Eagles. You can't put him into the game when the offense is struggling or else it'll invite controversy.
