I am looking at the Cardinals game in general, Jimmy struggles vs that team because they have an all-pro safety and good Linebackers that could take away the middle of the field. And if Kyler wins that game with his legs and his arm strength while Jimmy is limited could really tempt Shanny to unleash Trey knowing he has got a QB with a similar skillset to the guy that just destroyed him. Also with the bye week it gives Kyle 2 weeks to get Trey ready.

I don't see this happening. Once you go to Trey there's no going back, even if he's in over his head.
I think Trey will play more than we think because we don't have a RB that can pass protect and we are playing a team that we can run on.

I see a lot of read options Sunday night. Lance may get 20 snaps and essentially be our RB two.

Is that the new version of 'once you go black you never go back'?

The argument isn't, "Kyle won't produce anything with Trey". It's, "we'll produce more running our whole offense with Jimmy."

You went from questioning Treys playoff readiness in this scheme to now saying you don't think he can get us to the Super Bowl. This is moving the goalposts a bit here. The "scheme" is very adaptable to his ability to produce a playoff caliber offense. History has proven it with RG3. Whether we will be able to win a SB with it is an open question as it's not certain if we can win it with Jimmy since his playoff history is less than stellar when you look at it production wise. What I do know is that Trey brings the possibility of 11 on 11 football and that is being too easily discounted here.

Yeah, hopefully he gets in for a couple of plays.
With all the talk about how Trey will develop I thought Kyle's interview today with Matt was interesting, Especially his comment on how rookies develop on scout team.
Really good article on the front page with quotes from Kyle on Trey's development and plan.

Yes it certainly squashes an argument from a particular poster.

Bigtime. We should all trust Kyle more than anyone on a 49ers Internet forum. I'm sure he knows a lot better. I do think Trey deserves some more playing time but again, I trust Kyle a lot. Especially with qbs and since he has a pretty complex offense that takes a while to get down

Rocking the scout team, that will get him where he needs to be

This. You can't go all Hue Jackson and yank him the moment he starts to struggle so they absolutely need to be sure that he's really ready to go before you make that decision.

Its snaps against an NFL defense. You can mock it if you like but it's certainly better than just throwing him out there in a game situation before he's ready, letting him get destroyed and then trying to conduct a salvage operation on a guy you used three first round picks on.

Baby steps will get him to where they need him to be without risking destroying his confidence.

Game 1? No,...not really.

Game 2 was a disaster from the beginning where we eeked out a win. You can't bring him in in the middle of a disaster like that at this point.

He will get his time. Jimmy is a $20+ Million insurance policy. Maybe a warranty would be a better description where you use the hell out of it while you can.

i think what prevented him being out there in the eagles is their Dline it really is one of the best in nfl.

i think he gets time against the packers their front 7 is not very good also with some national TV attention and 2 division games coming up i think he will feature Trey more and make them prepare for both Qbs
