Yeah, what a shame trey isn't getting reps and building confidence with the sweet taste of success like so many here clamor about

just look at the two guys drafted above him ....oh wait....Lawrence and wilson rank DEAD LAST in qbr

They've thrown 10 picks between em and taken 12 sacks.

This wont give them a ghost on their shoulder for the rest of their careers, or anything.

I'm pretty happy trey is skipping this part of his "education."

I'll be honest, the more I see of Mac Jones the more I think the 49ers may have screwed up.

One big difference, those two teams don't have the talent or coaching we do. And no one Is calling for Trey to be the full time starter, not yet anyway. A few reps per game should do for now.

Nah. Mac Is just more NFL ready than Lance. It's about who will become the best a few years from now, and my bet Is on Lance... Patience

Natural emotion,...but he has the advantage of playing and giving you that vibe.

Can you let Mac throw for more than 1 TD on the year before going all in on him though?

He's had his moments but if the decision's going to happen now, you should say he should've been taken before Zach Wilson and Trevor Lawrence as well.

The lower you go, generally the better roster you are going to for early success. But by your rushed logic Mac should've been #1 Overall and have never been a 49er anyway.

Rocking the scout team, that will get him where he needs to be

Its snaps against an NFL defense. You can mock it if you like but it's certainly better than just throwing him out there in a game situation before he's ready, letting him get destroyed and then trying to conduct a salvage operation on a guy you used three first round picks on.

Baby steps will get him to where they need him to be without risking destroying his confidence.

Agree. it's also one of the better defenses in the NFL. Throwing against one of the better defenses in the NFL in practice (I think) is almost as good a learning experience as throwing against a bottom feeding defense in a real game as (i think) the type that Green Bay has, for example. Trevor Lawrence and Zack Wilson are getting their confidence tested right now. There is always a chance their confidence gets shattered and never recovers from all the adversity they are going through right now. We shall see.

Yeah, some fans hate being viewed as wrong so they mock it, not a big deal I guess and it's expected to some degree. Kyle has already stated Trey will get reps in games THIS YEAR which he has and will be our starter hands down next year. Trey may even be ready before we make the playoffs . Isn't that enough? Again, I'd rather trust Kyle than people on the internet on the development of our franchise qb.

Also, nice post Giedi. The force is strong with this one

I know right. 1 whole td and a bunch of short throws. Awesome 👏 Mac will be solid like Jimmy G imo but Lance will be much much better

Without a doubt - going against a good defense, will only make him better. Why force him into a bad situation, in a game, which might compromise his confidence.

Patrick Mahomes started to force the Chiefs' hand from the scout team. The dude was lighting them up from there. Trey has the same opportunity.

Yup we clearly screwed up. Trey Lance first NFL pass = TD
Mac Jones first NFL pass =

That may already be happening. According to Lynch, Lance was throwing dimes all over the field last week on the scout team. Just read it the other day, not sure if you saw it.

Great recon soldier. Proof that a player can learn and improve without playing time right away....except Trey has had some playing time already and will have some more. Looks like Shanahan is handling business and he's not going to f this up

Its been 2 weeks, and all Mac has done is throw checkdowns. His ceiling is Andy Dalton.
