But now I'm hearing he doesn't have elite speed. He's not ellusive. He clearly isn't accurate and definitely doesn't have touch. So on what basis was he drafted so high? Josh Allen was the outlier. And even then he clearly is bigger and stronger than Lance.

LOL man you're reaching so much. Mahomes whom you hated pre-draft was based off potential. Same with Allen. Watson threw a s**t ton of INTs and wasn't regarded as accurate coming out of Clemson. He was "just an athlete" who played on a stud team. I'm sure you hated him too.

He has plus speed for a guy that's 230lbs. His legs ARE a positive not a negative. He's not as elusive as Lamar, not one is...yet you make it sound like I said he wasn't elusive. Go watch him move around a muddy pocket and get yards. He did it on the first damn play of the game.

His adjusted completion percentage was 78%. Is he there yet, no. Why would you expect him to be? He made some stupid accurate throws on Sunday though...If Jimmy made those throws you'd be rock hard in the Jimmy thread and you know it.

And saying he doesn't have touch is a straight up lie. Go watch his check downs to Juice, go watch his film from NDSU.

how is this not touch

My god you've watch a handful of snaps and have declared him a bust because you've wanted him to be a bust from day 1...you've been patient with avg Jimmy for 4 years, dealt with him injures and defended him like no other....yet you can't do the same for a 21 yr old who hasn't played real football since 2019. Talk about being bias.

Anyways Trey played like 13 games and used his legs in big games as opposed to his arm. That doesn't work with the big boys

Only it does in today's game. The league is setup for that now. The rules have changed...we all want a guy that can do both and Lance will require more time to focus on in the pocket play...but any logical patient fan should understand this.

It works with one guy, Lamar, who is nothing like Trey. Lamar has elite, as in off the charts quickness, twitch, agility, body control and long speed. Trey is not elite in any of those.
Lamar is the only qb close to using his legs as much as his arms. Trey is already hurt after one game of running 16 times. He cannot sustain that.
Your takes continue to be proved as crap yet you keep coming back for more. That's admirable

LOL that's rich coming from you.

Yeah you're right Wilson never uses his legs, Dak never uses his legs, Herbert, Watson, Mahomes, Allen, Murray etc...I'm sure every single one is as "twitchy and fast as Lamar" s**t Steve young isn't Lamar Jackson and he ran just fine.

No one is saying Lance needs to run 20x a game. That will not be the norm once he actually get's to play football. That will absolutely be a threat and should be.

The fact is most young uber athletes are becoming QBs. It's not just stand in the pocket and throw 30x a game. The league has changed, the rules have changed. There's free yards for QBs on the ground. 70% of the league is playing 11 on 11 now. That is NOT gonna change with who's becoming QBs. You'd think you'd realize that being a college football fan, but please continue to pretend you know what you're talking about...you've convinced all of us lol.

Sorry you didn't get your QB. Sorry about your Bama loss

Again, none of those guys are like Lamar, yes they all can and will run, but Lamar is the only one who uses his legs just as much as his arm. My point is that Lance is not like Lamar, he will have to develop much better passing skills before he becomes a threat.

Let's just hope he starts from here on out, he needs the reps…..I agree with you on that. Unfortunately he's already hurt. I'm getting Nick Senzel vibes already with Trey having an injured finger and knee already. Senzel was the second overall pick for the Reds and his development has almost been completely halted by vertigo, knee, elbow, and finger injuries.

"He is not like Lamar because he will have to develop much better passing skills" So Lamar is no longer a running back? I need to keep up

But until he proves he is an elite QB I won't just crown him off potential.

And that's fair...I don't see the point in hating on or saying he's gonna be a HOF QB right now.

Kid hasn't played football. The ability and intangibles are there, so I got the pick. We got people in here saying he should sit for a yr, then when he plays those same people are calling him a bust. It's comical and shows what they're really trying to do.

again show where anyone said he's Lamar? talk about making more s**t up.

Are you new here? Comparing Trey Lance to every mobile QB under the sun has been that way since pre draft. Now that Kyle ran him 16 times for nearly 90 yards, it's not hard to draw comparison to ANOTHER QB who just did the same thing last night. Many in here would be stoked if he became Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson 2.0.

It's not a dig...I just can't keep up (with fans) as it changes constantly with every new snap.

WHO is comparing him to Lamar, NC? NO ONE lol why are you making stuff up.

I said we play the colts in two weeks, they got crushed by Lamar and I think Lance could find success vs them (we all said we didn't want him playing vs the colts before the season started).

I also said when Lamar came into the league people said he should be a RB/WR and that his QB skills were s**t. Well they tailored an offense around him, won a f**k ton of games, and NOW he's becoming a better pocket passing QB. Weird that s**t takes time.

Yeah the "I'd rather be right than my team be successful" fans are annoying as f**k. And people who want to claim they are right after a few games of a players career are clearly new to football.
Guys who are proclaiming him a bust after 1 game when a lot of the vets sucked around him and a dumb game plan are the same clowns who call the game over after being down 3-0 after the first drive. So many jokers in this forum seriously

Sad and pathetic. Thankfully it's not that many of them, it's really the same handful of people. Which should make it easy on the mods to clean up all this trolling they do...

The amount of b******t that people are making up in here is frustrating and exhausting to deal with.

Everyone wants to prove the other person wrong to the point they're making up what someone said EVEN THOUGH it's all in writing lol. WTF are we doing here.

It's coming to a point where a lot of people in here aren't worth having conversations with...people get so defensive over everything, everyone thinks they're right and know more than the other guy (I'm at fault too), people are so stubborn and would rather lie/make up s**t then accept that they might be wrong or someone else just might know more about something.

I'd bet money if people in here actually met one another these conversations would be totally different. There would be more humility and understanding. I mean we're all fans of the same team and yet it's always about one person vs other person in here, like if you're right that changes anything about what we watch on Sunday lol

There's more people saying starting Lance would result in a lost season than people believing Lance is a future HOFer.

In reality no one knows the future. And anyone who claims they know is lying to themselves.

yup...see post#20324

It's gotten to a point in here where it's unbearable to have conversations with a lot of folks in here.

That's the worst....I see half of those names and I'm like who the hell are they? I don't think I've seen them have a convo in here outside of complaining about something on game day.
