Kid was a 19 yr old when that tape was out...yes his feet were a little erratic which lead to some placement issues. The great thing is that is totally correctable especially for someone that wasn't some 4 yr starter and throwing the ball a certain way all through college.

You can just watch clips from him working out and both pro days over the past 5+ months and see how great his feet look.

This is beautiful footwork...

There's some film of great footwork, just wasn't polished which is totally understandable...he's a pup. Allen had bad footwork and Mahomes had krusty the clown feet coming out of Texas Tech lol

Trey's accuracy and elongated throwing motion need to be fixed. I think with good coaching it shouldn't be a long term issue hopefully.

not buying into the Trey Lance hopium of him being competent next season or the one after... I'm looking at 2023, but if I am wrong I will be very excited!!

You're wrong but it's cool....

He brings the ball down to his waist when winding up. Its not a huge issue, Russell Wilson does the same thing, but tweaking it will just make him better.

hE Isn't AccuRate

That first one makes me so happy every time I watch it. To get that much zip on that ball is just ridiculous.

His arm is ++++

He was born to play QB.

Yeah, I didn't really notice an elongated throwing motion unless he was rolling to his left. On those instances, a slightly longer load is required in order to build the torque. This is why Wilson amazed everyone with that 60 yarder rolling to his left in his pro day. He did it with a flick of the wrist.

All I want is a QB that knows what the defense is going to do pre snap. Once that is achieved, their arm can be as weak as Brady's for all I care.
That quick drop and feet from under center. He looks like he'd been at it for 6 years like Jimmy. And the bob of the head on play fake like a vet is like watching high production porn

Go watch his footwork now during his pro days...it's night and day. He finally got a legit QB coach teaching him mechanics. Do you serious think John Beck would have signed off on Lance to his buddy Kyle if he thought it was a "serious issue"? nah dude.

Kap ran a pistol offense in Nevada. What he was asked to do vs what Lance was asked to do weren't in the same ball park.

Accuracy is all about your low half and that's something that has been cleaned up a f**k ton from everything I've been seeing. You wanted to see some s**tty film go watch Josh Allen vs Boise State or Mahomes vs Iowa State or a handle of games from Herbert last yr.

Lance is NOT a project.

Ppl are also underselling that he only started playing QB in HS. So he has played QB for last 4-5 years. His mechanics are not tattooed in his brain so it won't take months to unlearn things and then years to learn new things.

And the other thing it shows is - how fast of a learner he is - to play so little and still be so refined.

His mechanics already looks vastly improved from 2019 and why wouldn't they be - this if the first time he's getting professional coaching.

Btw...about the arm strength - I've heard couple podcasts now where the hosts spoke to Beck and McElroy (his two private coaches over the last few months) - and both said his velocity will further improve as he continues to improve his mechanics. They saw somethings in his mechanics that actually hurt his velocity on many throws and they expect the ball to pop out even more.

I mean I can find clips of every QB doing that....I would say most of those dips where on deep balls (loading up) which isn't a problem at all

Like I said I think he's got better mechanics than Allen/Mahomes when they got drafted. tighten up the footwork (which wasn't bad to begin with) and we're cooking.

Yeah I'm referring to short and intermediate passes. Cosell was just on KNBR and said the same thing. Again, not a huge issue but I'm sure if he shortened his throwing motion it would make him even better.
