Ideally Trey wouldn't be getting any more playing time until 2022

He hasn't shown anything in half a season. The other rookie QB's look better so far.
Trey Lance: 4 games, 4 TDs, 1 turnover
Justin Fields: 8 games, 5 TDs, 9 turnovers
Zach Wilson: 6 games, 4 TDs, 9 turnovers
Mac Jones: 8 games, 9 TDs, 7 turnovers
Trevor Lawrence: 7 games, 10 TDs, 12 turnovers
What is this supposed to prove? Lance has APPEARED in 4 games but he has only started one. Everyone else on this list, except Fields, has been the day one starter for their team which means they will all have had more plays and more pass attempts. Talk about apples and oranges. There isn't anything that is comparable between Lance and the others in those numbers. Compare all of the stats between the players for the same number of plays to start the careers and it might be slightly more meaningful but not by much since again, outside of the Cardinals game Lance has only been in on a situational basis which is very different from being a starter. I have no doubt that Lance's day will come and then these kind of comparisons might have some value but right now it seems kind of pointless.
That's right. The others have proven they can be the starter.

TD's are a dumb stat for trey, since he gets put in on the goal line a lot. How about passing numbers?

That's right. He get goal line plays. He's not used in the middle of the field. So his numbers are deceiving.

Sure it's preseason, and against backups (I believe)
But still...nice ball placement.
