What do you mean? Are there even groups here who would prefer anyone over Jimmy, or anyone over Big Mac? Speaking for myself, I'd prefer only about 12 guys over Jimmy right now, and I would have been quite happy with Mac, since he has some traits that you can't really teach. But then, so do Lance and Fields.

I liked you better when you complained about our oline and pass protection everyday. Tough week for you on that one I guess?

I bet!

Nope, I always give them love when it's earned:

Big props today if the PP held up like it appeared.

He now just trolls along with Aj, Jose, and Bama

I was a Fields fan, that's who I wanted. But I'm not in the Fields drooling over him and constantly s**tting on our rookie QB like these "fans" do.

Then why are you responding to it.

Well, we're 3-4 with 23 players on I.R. and there's only a few things that garner discussion in the WZ currently even after a big win:
  • IAY
  • Nitpick-a-JG-throw
  • Injuries
  • Other teams going all-in
  • Why 5 fans think JD is biased

If you all want to have an intelligent, real discussion about something, I'm all in...but...

However, it's been a great year for them and a very tough one for those who thought Jimmy was a franchise QB or that we would take Jones.

Nope. Everyone already knew pre draft Garoppolo was a lame duck QB this year and Jones is already light years better than the mobile QB's. But that too was expected.

Speaking of the Jets and how people want to put Trey in the same scenario and watch him sink or swim instead of letting him learn. Jets fans have already turned on Wilson and a certain group of 49ers would do the same to Trey if he struggled and didn't produce fantasy stats. If anything sitting gives him the opportunity to learn how mean and ruthless fans are. And how quickly they will turn on a player.

This is 90% of the reason I dont want him to start this year. I just don't think a rookie should have to deal with the unrealistic expectations of fans if they don't have to. Next year, fine. He'll have had a full circuit as an NFL QB and its sink or swim time. But I've already seen the nitpicking of Lance's preseason games and the one start vs AZ. Theres just no way he can realistically meet fan expectation. He's just too raw to be able to do it.

I agree - let the rook sit and learn. Mentally and physically he'll be ready next year.

Been my position from the day we drafted him. And Zack Wilson is a great example, plus he is now hurt. Trevor sure isn't tearing it up, and until last couple games Fields was getting booed at home. Mack Jones is probably doing better than any of them with BB. No way did i want a guy we spent 3 firsts on starting with little collegiate play and not in the BIGS either… and then have him get crippled up because he wasn't ready. Things are going along as i had hoped , but still Trey IS the insurance Qb if JG goes down.

I am hoping Jimmy makes it thru the season, no more injuries. Compared to the other rook QBs, Mack and Trey drew by far and away the best circumstances for them to succeed.

Most of those people only admitted Jimmy was a lame duck after we traded up to #3 and there are some out there that are delusional enough to think Jimmy will be here beyond this season. Before the trade, they were in denial about the rumors that we were interested in Stafford, Watson (pre-accusations), Darnold, Dalton, Flacco, etc.

Though, you're right that it was expected by everyone that Mac Jones would look better out of the gate. Nothing he's done so far has surprised any of the people that didn't want him here.

True true. You're probably talking about a very small minority of people though.

I remember fans talking about a scenario where JG could still be here next year starting but that would require an MVP-like Superbowl winning scenario (Rodgers-Love like scenario). But I don't think the biggest JG homer on the planet thought that could be a reality.

Yeah I'm not sure I'm aware of one poster who didn't see the writing on the wall once the trade was made. Most folks knew he was a pretty good fit for Kyles offense and we could win with him if he could stay healthy. Though I hope no one counted on that.
Now the Mac guys aren't mad because we were wrong on a message board about him being picked 3rd, we're mad because he's a stud and we got a kid who can't make basic throws from within the pocket.
