Now the Mac guys aren't mad because we were wrong on a message board about him being picked 3rd, we're mad because he's a stud and we got a kid who can't make basic throws from within the pocket.

Our coach selected Trey Lance with the 3rd pick of this year's draft.
Didn't you just apologize yesterday about harping on this over and over?

imagine thinking his a stud lol? I've never seen so much ball licking on avg QB play than some posters in here & a couple analysts do with Jones.
He does nothing special...he's beaten 2 teams (NYJ2x & Texans) who have a combined 3 wins and then just played one of his worst game of the yr vs LAC. I mean do people actually watch the NE games? OR are they just seeing some highlights on ESPN? I think they kicked like 4 or 5 FGs and scoring one TD (rushing) on offense vs LAC. Ya'll want more Jimmy G or something? 9TDs to 7 TOs isn't something I call "special"

Jones does not play how Joe played. You're gonna talk about people not watching Joe and say this? LMAO. Joe was NIMBLE. He was fast for the position. He threw with better ball placement and more beautiful spirals. I mean, about all they have in common is that they were good in the pocket.
EDIT -- like for real? Jones isn't doing this, bro:

I feel like a lot of people who are acting like Jones is Montana or the best rookie they've seen haven't actually watched closely.
He's done nothing shocking given his pedigree entering the draft. Everyone knew he should be a guy who plays at his best early on. That's why I had no issues with us taking him with our original pick because he was a slight upgrade over Jimmy, with a rookie salary to work around and no injury history.
But when you're going all in for a franchise QB then you need a guy who can elevate the play around him and someone who has a large ceiling to work towards. Jones floor and ceiling are inches apart.
Yes he's accurate, yes he has very good mechanics and yes he's got a great grasp on the Pats offense quickly. Honestly I don't know if there's a better move for a Bama player than going to the Pats. Belichick and Saban are pretty much bffs and Pats use Bama as a minor league club for them.
But when you watch the Pats there are very few big time throws that Jones has made when guys aren't wide open. Now kudos to him that he's finding the open guys but eventually you play a defense which defends well and you have to make some tough contested throws and he's shown very few of those so far. Maybe he improves but eventually his physical limitations will get to him.

I sure remember them. I wa sat the game and my heart sank several times that day. In the end that made the Catch even more special since there were so many turnovers that day. Most of us in the stands were so excited that we forgot that the game wasn't over and we had to come back to reality as the Cowboys started moving on that last drive. Except for that game saving tackle that game might have been known as the Drive in Cowboy land.
