Straight from lynch's mouth

You aren't f**king with me, are you?

But yes. Lance from the start.

Do you understand the context of that conversation AT ALL? Do you know that Lynch and Kyle never shared their preferences? Lynch was ECSTATIC they both loved the same guy.

So yes, Lance from the start. Got any more brain busters for me?

Yeah I can see the meeting now..

Lynch: WHo do you like, Kyle?

Shanahan: I'm not going to tell you now. How about you?

Lynch: I'd rather not say either. Hey why don;t we surprise each other right before the draft??

What narrative would you prefer? Jed said f**k no to Jones? Lynch told Shanny to take Lance or Fields or he'll take it to the fan base? Or the narrative from the person who selected Lance?

Looks like a good kid. I'm rooting for him.

Is that Lance or Vernon ???

There are ppl on this board and in the media who think it's hard to get how good or fast of a runner Lance is bc he's playing against future car salesmen. Well - here it is.

Lamar Jackson is 6'2 210 24 years old in his physical prime
Lance is 6'4 225 20 year old

This is sort of a relief for me. Was difficult to tell Lance's speed because he appears so under control when he's running. But I guess his top speed is very fast. I think his 40-time is faster than what was clocked. I'm sure his primary focus wasn't coming out of a sprinter's stance.

Quoting myself. I know Kyler Murray ran a 4.3 but I wonder if he has clocked faster than 20mph with a uniform. If not, then this is what we have:

  1. The biggest QB in the NFC West
  2. The fastest QB in the NFC West
  3. The strongest arm in the NFC West
  4. Physical ability: Lance = Wilson + Murray + Stafford
Kap was also the biggest fastest strongest and had the most physical abilitity in the NFC West.
For Trey arm strength is debateable. Stafford and Wilson have stronger arms imo.
If they listened to the fans then they won't last as HC and GM.

They traded up for Lance, but didn't want to end up with another Patrick Mahomes situation where they pass on somebody that they didn't really evaluate at all. So they did analysis on all 3 QBs without coming to an official decision.

How if we are led to believe that they didn't inform each other for a few days prior? It didn't add up

I think they made the move up because they identified several QB candidates worthy of trade up (rookie QB deal was necessary to maintain roster). I believe Lawrence, Wilson, and Lance were the original QBs, it was more about moving into a position to properly conduct their down selection without the subterfuge. Then through the process, Lance was identified as the leader.

He's right. And so was Lombardi. Lynch and Shanahan caved in to pressure to select Lance. Too much smoke and evidence. What disappoints me the most is that they said the presser that would listen to social media etc, and they were going to do their job.

Why did they trade up to 3 then?

This is more likely than the it was lance all along narrative.

He didn't like the pick so that's what it has to be lol...never mind the massive amount of upside and intangibles

Same people that got fooled by Lombardi and the same ones that believe the pick was about ticket sales lol. Let's get the tinfoil hats on.

It can't be a simple as they liked Lance the whole damn time, let the media jump all over a "rumor" and watch chaos and ratings for the NFL go through the roof.

Right. I'm glad they were wrong and I refused to believe them until the commissioner said Mac Jones. I wasn't gonna let them get my blood pressure high for no reason

He's less fast than Kaepernick. Keep it in perspective. He's here to throw.

Who are these people???. They need 👁 implants. This dude is gonna be handing off to himself on 3d and short and the goal line.🤣. He'll call his protections then blast out on a boot and either hit a second or 3d window at 55 yards or just keep it and truck corners. Wish the Kap Shlit would stop. This dude's top end is faster than LJ's

I don't know. Kap's top speed was like a cheetah.

But Trey doesn't need to be the fastest QB. He just needs to be fast enough to scare defenses — and he is.

He wasn't right, ATL would have taken him so would have Denver...he was CLEARLY wrong they didn't need to move up for Jones lol.

I don't know that he is, but if he is....its not a whole hell of a lot.

Lance said he's been getting laser 40 times around 4.51 (97th percentile) and Kap ran a 4.53, but Kap was like 5/6lbs bigger. Both are plenty fast.

Kap was still affected by surgery when he ran that 40. He's faster than that.

until you listen to when Kyle said, there were 3 QBs that they felt good with at three...he said in that last presser (before the draft) that after they got to evaluated freely the felt the other 2 QBs improved their stocks with the team BUT the original guy did as well. So that means they drafted the guy they moved up for all along....lance.

This can't be correct. We are to believe that they did not divulge their love for lance to each other until a few days prior to avoid bias , and lynch was so ecstatic that shanahan wanted lance that he started pinching his own nipples.

Why can't it be correct? They knew they loved all these dudes and now had the ability to freely evaluated them. Kyle told Lynch in January that he loved Lance and sent him film on him...you miss that or no?

They then went through the process and both came away with the same conclusion...t's not that deep of a thing, Jose.

You said they traded up SPECIFICALLY for lance. Yes?

Clearly originally that is what it was, go listen to the last presser before the draft and just listen to what they've said....

We are to believe that Trey was picked at three and Mac Jones had to pop a NoDoz trying to stay awake long enough to hear his name called

Then why did lynch say " you aren't f**king with me, are you?" A few nights before. Sounds like he was surprised, and couldn't believe it. Sort of relieved too.
