That's an opinion many have. However, I believe he would've fallen off hard with more exposure.
I think he is one of the most fortunate athletes in the last few years he didn't have a season to play in 20.
This guy was the 3rd overall pick after starting two years his whole life at qb in his life.

Only started two years his whole life IN HIS WHOLE LIFE? Oh no's. What are we going to do?
It seems to be a league consensus that Trey isn't ready yet. Keep something in mind folks, Aaron Rodgers sat on the bench 3 yrs. Trey has all the mental and physical tools, give the kid some time to learn.

Now it's a league consensus? This s**t is spreading like a CA wildfire.

What does "ready" mean, by the way? I've asked a half-dozen people and no one has given me a direct answer.

Yeah, this consensus and "ready" thing is b******t. He's the starter this year and will play well. I'm tired of all this negative talk about Trey, like people know what the hell is going on.

Packers didn't trade 3 1st RD picks to get him. Has a team ever traded multiple 1st RD picks to draft a player and sit him for 2 years?

Secondly the Packers had an elite QB at the time.

It was the same with Mac Jones and the draft. It started from minimal speculation and people just run with it.

Chris Simms: I have no idea who they're taking but Jones is the type of QB Kyle likes so it wouldn't surprise me.

Rest of Media: They traded up for Mac Jones!!!

49ers: Uh...yeah, OK then.....*radio silence*

lol. Why are you still here? You're obviously not a 49ers fan.

The irony of you crapping on Trey Lance, but then swearing allegiance to Andy Dalton 2.0.
I heard a couple of guys on the radio Friday talking about Lance and one of them made the comment that Trye will need a lot of work and we already know he's inaccurate. Really. How do we know that. I don't know that because I haven't seen enough of him. He had an injury during pre season against the Raiders that hurt his throwing but he looked okay by the time he started his 2nd game in the regular season. Still, I haven't seen enough to say one way of the other if he's accurate of not. He threw for 28 TDs and no INTs in college but that was college so I can't go by that either. I laugh when I hear some radio dude making a statement about the accuracy of a young QB who they haven't really seen.

So because he was picked 3rd, you're gonna rush the guy out there and let him get destroyed? 🙄 His mechanics has to be worked on. His accuracy has to be worked. His soft touch passes needs to be worked on. He holds on to the ball too long, his release is too slow. He needs time to work these things through. He's not a bust, but those of you trying to rush him out there when he clearly hasn't played enough football are about to make him a bust.

If he busts it'll be because he's not a good quarterback, not because he didn't sit long enough. He's ready…to start on the job training.

Exactly what was the meaning of Lance not being ready until year 3?

Does that mean, he should not start or play until year 3... or... Should we expect the team to start winning with Lance in his 3rd year??

He will get better in game with more experience. Jimmy can't win the big one and get us over the hump. That's obvious

How is ready when he's more high school football than college? And not to mention it was Division II college meaning his opponents were JUCO level, and that was only for one yr. "Well he looked pretty good against the Texans" lol, that's not saying much. You have a win now squad, and a future possible pro bowl QB, but years down the line. I don't think this has been thought through.

This….. the longer we hold him to the bench the longer it will take to be successful. I fully expect 1 or 2 years of play for him to get close to his potential. I guess people think the plan should be to let jimmy not get the team a ring again, just to make him sit so his progress takes longer
