Watson has issues. He wont fight for jump balls, questionable hands, relies on being the fastest (which he wont be in the NFL).
He has some other issues that the mods probably would not like me to post in here.
Ok I have to revise this. Watson ran a 4.28 40 at the combine. He will be one of the fastest in the NFL.

Of course all these combine speed warriors, John Ross says hello.

I want him mostly for the rapport that he and Trey already have. Look at how well that worked with Burrow and Chase.

Yeah and Chase was a top 10 selection this is a pipedream lol where's Phoenix Sproles?
Sproles has never done anything special at NDSU besides excelling at NIL.

So you're saying he may actually be attainable considering our draft assets? He eligible this year or still playing college ball?

Would it be worth it to trade up to get him? Specially if they already have (as you said) that rapport and chemistry?

I'd like to see it. You want to do everything you possibly can to ensure Trey's success. Quite a lot riding on that.
I'm drooling over the possibility of a Tyreek Hill 2.0 kind of WR in Watson. Match Watson with Trey's howitzer and both of them can change games in an instant.

I'd cream my pants if we drafted Watson - got to move up, though.

Well Watson and Lance are BFFs so you guys probably have a shot at him if the powers that be want him.

Uh if that's the case TL should have texted Watson to run a 4.9 that would have been our only hope

The irony here is drafting Lance precludes us from drafting Watson.

Lol There is no way any smart player would ever purposefully sabotage a chance to be a 1st round draft pick and the money that comes with it.

I believe he can be had, but we just have to wait and see what picks we have after Jimmy is traded. We could potentially move into the high 2nd, and I bet this is around where he goes because of the depth at WR in this class. I'm also 100% behind stacking this offense like Buffalo, Cincinnati and KC have done. You can never have enough weapons.

Where is he projected now? NFL.com has him going #91 to GB.

I doubt he's there with our first pick tbh

Long gone
He's 6'4" runs a 4.36 and has experience with Lance?! Seems like a player worth trading up for…

I guess the Burrow+Chase connection is now the hottest thing to get in the NFL.

It was Burrow/Chase
Tua/Waddle
Hurts/Smith

There's no question that adding a WR the QB already has known chemistry with is a plus but really the only connection that REALLY stood out was the Burrow to Chase and you have #1 overall pick and one of the best seasons in QB play within the SEC to the guy he was throwing to during that season. The better of the two WRs from that school, the 2nd of which was already playing in the NFL and had a monster rookie season.

Nothing is guaranteed of course but you have a #1 pick QB throwing to #5 overall pick(when 3 QBs went top 3) WR.

Now the other combos are certainly not terrible but more so because of the WRs Waddle/Smith another dynamic duo everyone knew would go high in the draft.

I would certainly love Watson to give us an elite top 3 WR combo but despite his great showing yesterday he's not in the league with Chase, Waddle and Smith as far as WR prospects go.

He also wouldn't be our featured WR so do I see the big need for us to get him? Absolutely not. It would be cool and he'd make us better but if his stock jumped that much then let another team have him.

How exactly do we pull it off if he's say 20th pick? With those metrics he's top 20 or 20 ish imo. I wouldn't get your hopes up I don't think he'll be coming here.

Sproles is still on the 2022 NDSU roster. Its his last year.

Great take.

Yup fireworks that's exactly how I see it. All the more reason to hope we draw LA in Week 1 to open the season whole country watching. Let there be fireworks.

No way. Trey in week 1 is not going to be as good as Trey in week 18. We don't need to start the season off against maybe the most talented pass rush in football.

Perhaps you are right. I could see him taking the league by storm tho before the book is in on how to stop him. Our offense should look much different and Week 1 they won't know what to plan for. Maybe I'm just eager to get some payback

There's a diminishing return on the usefulness of another WR here. Unless he's going to be an All Pro type guy, why bother?

I would expect us to draft a WR at some point, specifically with long speed for KR/PR and the "Travis Benjamin" role. I agree he seems to be too good for 2nd round, and the only feasible way to get up there would be some complicated trade involving Jimmy and/or Dre Greenlaw.

Unlikely
