Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance Thread

I can bet Trey Lance isn't worried about Jimmy. I can bet Trey believes he can and will best Jimmy in the TC and earn the starting job rather than get it by default. Ppl have laughable takes on here. There's a reason why he will be successful in life - and it's not by running away from challenges.

Then because your incumbent starter has drawn ZERO interest from a single other NFL team, he comes back and is given his old job back? Yeah my faith in the organization is gone in that case.

Agreed and wouldn't blame him wanting out.

that was obviously false. Even teammates said he wasnt ready at TC by saying how much he improved and when he started he wasnt exactly tearing it up

he got regular season snaps and he wasnt as good as a healthy Jimmy last year

If that's his mindset then he doesn't deserve to be a starter. Nothing is given in this league, if trey is the starter, he will outperform jimmy. From what I've seen from Trey so far, this will only make him work harder. He hasn't earned anything to frown about who's in the qb room.

I don't think Kyle will bench him in favor of Jimmy if he does indeed excel in preseason and TC. Kyle said himself he was in contention to start before he got injured. The way the season flowed I have no doubt if we kept losing with Jimmy Trey would've been the guy for the rest of the season. But its hard switching qbs at the middle of a hot streak. The locker room loves Jimmy, but im sure they love winning more and if they feel like trey gives them the best chance to win then they're all in with him.

Kyle has always been i will start the best player he doesnt give a f**k about draft position

like other have saiid

if that's his attitude he will never succeed in the NFL so i would support him wanting out if he wanted out if isnt given the starting job

Cant think of a single player in NFL who has done well who felt they were entitled coming into the NFL.

Also lack of interest in Jimmy is because he just got shoulder injury i think teams would want to see if the surgury went well before they traded for a QB

Would really make no sense if he's just automatically made the starter since no team wanted to trade for him. But we'll see once his shoulder clears.
Seems we are in full off season mode with the "Lance will want out" posts.

It's a relatively minor surgery in NFL terms. That isn't why teams are shying away.

It has something to do with it since he can't start throwing until July. Teams would like to have a guy that can start throwing in mini camps. Even though it's "minor surgery", there's always a chance of complications during the rehab. We've seen this many times with players that have setbacks and end up missing more time than expected. With a guy like Jimmy who';s always one play from another injury, it's a big concern.

His injury situation is a concern. But that's the bigger issue, not this specific surgery. If the guy was valued highly a minor shoulder issue wouldn't be scaring teams off.

Wentz has been hurt a ton too but he's been traded twice now. What we have seen is the league just doesn't value him all that much.

I envision a shaved Trey in the near future, dude is thinning. I, unfortunately, understand holding on but eventually, he'll see a pic and be like "Oh hell no" and it will all come off.

Hope he doesn't take the Lebron route.

If that's your best look at that scenario, then you simply don't get it. It's much more complicated than that and there's a bunch of other considerations that spin off that.

I seriously doubt that Lance is concerned about competing with Garoppolo. That's not even a competition. And given equal opportunity last year, I'm sure he knows that it wouldn't have been even last year. He played the good soldier and went along with it. Said all the right things and zipped it. If the organization decides to put up the same circus act next year, even people who are close to him and know him, say he'll lose faith in this organization. I believe it.

Side note: Lol at your reckoning that the lack of interest in JG is because of the shoulder surgery. smh.
