Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance Thread

I'm dying to see Lance with a full offseason and training camp with all first team reps. So much meaningless opinions in here from all sides.

We only know one thing. Trey wasn't ready last year.

All the rest is opinion. Trey still isn't ready. Trey will be the next mahommes. Trey will be a bust. He's going to have an up and down season. He will be mvp. This offseason is f**king long.

Even Shanahan and lynch don't know how Lance is going to do, so let's not act like we know anything. Just sit back and watch. Let the actual gameplay form your opinion.

Can you base this "fact" on something? Anything?

Yes. The fact that he didnt f**king play, and couldn't beat out a gimpy Jimmy.

He never has a shot to beat out Mr. Glass. Never got first string reps from day 1. There was no competition if you paid attention.

Gonna be funny when Mr. Racofribs who joined the WZ less then a yr ago, is forced to watch Trey be at the very least as good as Jimmy & try to defend Jimmy.

As little football he knows he will still think he is right. Jiks will need to start a 3rd account soon anyway.

How does not being given 1st team reps from day 1 equate to not being ready?

Since when did u get this supreme faith in Shanahan where you 100% believe he makes the correct choice 100% of the time?

When you don't get first team reps, you automatically aren't ready. It's not his fault, it was shanahans call. But the fact of the matter is, he wasn't ready. And we will never know of he would have been ready if he was given first team reps from the start.

And why the hell am I even arguing whether its a fact or not that a 20 year old kid with 300 pass attenpts at north dakota state was ready to start year 1 for an NFL franchise? The zone

What? That's the weakest copout ever, and it's certainly not what you inferred in the OP. If this is all you've got, then you have to acknowledge that before he "wasn't ready" come game days,....that before he took less snaps Day 1 of practice 1, he certainly could've been more ready at that point in time than Jimmy proved to be.

You're essentially admitting to saying this only due to a coach's decision. A coach that you've yelled and screamed about incessantly here for not making the right decisions. Week in, Week out in gameday threads. Literally.

You come to a fork in the road and you choose a path,...okay. That doesn't mean that the other path wasn't viable or even better.

So your original post that everyone knows Trey wasn't ready last year like it's some kind of fact ends up as a colossal failure.

I could easily have seen Trey putting up better #s than Jimmy last year. Jimmy's #s last year were pedestrian, and his playoff performances were abysmal.

Was Trey "ready" for a Tom Brady/Aaron Rodgers type of year? Probably not. But ready to outdo what Jimmy accomplished? That'd have been no great feat.

Yeah, it's painfully obvious that Lance could've easily beat the 20 touchdown 12 interception performance that Jimmy Garoppolo had during the season or at the very least matched it. That's NOT counting the extra running yards and first downs and touchdowns he would've got with his legs. Also, there's no way he could've done worse than Jimmy in the playoffs. But that is common sense imo
