Remember the true Shanahan prototype. It's not Kirk Cousins. It's Steve Young and John Elway

Really that's the reason?
The fact that you didn't come up with anything else than being homer worries me.
We've had coaches before Kyle... we'll have coaches after Kyle. "QBs that fit his system"? If I described Lance to some around here a few years ago, they would have said I'm crazy and he doesn't fit Kyle's system. Hell Kyle might have said the same thing to me in 2017 when he first got here.
I don't feel it's worth trading all that draft capital for a QB who just fits a Kyle's system.... I'd want one who could fit different systems and be under different coaches and succeed. Because it's not guaranteed that Kyle is going to be around for ever.
If Lance develops, he could fit into a lot of systems. He could work in a vertical passing offense, in a more run heavy offense like Greg Roman runs, he could fit with numerous teams. The biggest question is if he'll be able to improve his accuracy, that ultimately will determine if he can have long term NFL success.

"We weren't going to work to correct that," Shanahan said.
They rode that natural smokescreen, as we speculated throughout all of April.
BOOM
MAC JONES FANS SORRY GUYS - YOU GOT DUPED

So... Do we integrate Lance into our offense somehow this year?
I can see a RZ package, nearly all him running shotgun outside zone following the RB.
Then mix in some quick throws off it

Not too excited about this pick. Why not just get a QB like Mariota?
Ahem

Wasn't Staley working with trey's tackle teammate? Maybe he was the inside info guy the whole time?

Then I wouldn't have took that chance.. hell I wouldn't have traded all those picks too move up. I hated it when it first happened... Hell I didn't want us to trade for Watson with all those picks.
You HAVE TO BE SURE with stuff like this.. that's why it is usually never worth it.
Usually when you trade at #3 or higher... you got there because you were bad.. or because you are desperate. But if you did get there, others didn't... and they would be fortunate to get that spot... so if you wanted to trade that spot or player.. it would be more for what you initially got it for.
So.. would any of the remaining teams trade the same draft picks we did to move up, if not more, to get Trey Lance from us? I don't know, I just get a feeling they wouldn't.

Btw...Kyle and Lynch should get nominated for Oscars. That presser was one hell of a acting job.
