I rarely saw a QB as scrutinized as Lance. I mean Trevor Lawrence seems to barely exist these days.
Good on Kyle to have drafted Trey and not a really good QB with a low ceiling like Mac Jones.
As for Trey, we just have to wait next season and we will finally have an answer. Everything else doesn´t really matter.
Of course if someone like Jay Glazer says he sucks, well it´s not a good news, but actually Glazer said the opposite, so it´s fine so far.
Most of the legit NFL insiders haven't said much in regards to SF being 'underwhelmed" like you said it's actually been far from that. Jim Trotter said he was almost named the WK1 starter if not for the finger injury. Most said he did everything SF wanted him to do last yr and the upside is real....he's also a work in progress. Which seems pretty fair IMO.
Lawrence was regarded as the best QB to coming out of the draft since Andrew Luck. "generational" talent. For the most part he looked like butt. Yes the HC stunk, but he was also running an offense that wasn't much further off then what he ran at Clemson. Zach Wilson was even worse last yr. So many WTF throws from both them. McCorkle looked at least like he knew what he was doing, but you could see the reason he was looked at at the 5th QB drafted too. Fields was a mess all the same.
We will see what Trey turns into....imo he's setup for success and isn't gonna have to toss the team on his back year 1.
