I mean yes, kudos to him for being an NFL fan who was actually able to impress a team enough to give him a job. He did it back when the internet was in its infancy, youtube wasn't a thing and it was hard to get information that's a lot more readily available now but if you look into his story he wasn't actually a player evaluator for the Jets. He was basically an intern who was an errand boy. There is a reason he hasn't been with an NFL team in decades.

His takes are absurd and out there. He thinks Tebow is a legit NFL QB. That should tell you all you need to know. At one point he was trashing Trey without even watching the Houston tape.

He's a hack who is using his former glory to try to legitimize his stupid opinions but fact is he hasn't done s**t in years and is clearly no more qualified than fans who know this sport well.

lol

So I read up a little on this and it's even funnier. Even after Tebow showed the league how s**tty of a QB he was, this Kelly guy still endorsed Tebow and wanted to make Tebow the first ever QB/assistant GM, in a dual role. wat.

ridiculous, trey would be a way better gm than tebow

He's insane. The other day he tried to tell everyone he was right about the 49ers keeping Jimmy G as the starter and Lance on the bench, and for proof he listed the "official 49ers depth chart" from 49ers.com, from the NFC Championship game. A depth chart which includes DJ Jones, Laken Tomlinson and several other guys who are now on other NFL teams.

Oh and he has an Aaron Hernandez tattoo...which he got AFTER the man was convicted of murder.

IMO here are the things that make QBs successful in the NFL

Talent
Coaching
Supporting cast
Determination and work ethic
Intelligence

By all accounts Trey has all of those so he's definitely setup for success and if he puts in the effort the rest should fall into place.

Another big thing which really cannot be foreseen until the player is actually out there is how does he deal with the lows of the game. Getting hit often, if the team isn't as great as maybe he had before but not much we can do about these things until he's in those situations and ideally you don't want to see him in that situation.

In his short sample size he did show that adversity wasn't something that causes him to shell up and cry but it was a short sample size.

Overall I think we're trending in a really good direction and I think we have the coaches and talent to help Trey along the way.

I'd put work ethic right after talent and before coaching. We need a guy that will work on his mechanics in the off season and study the film hard

What about the IT factor ?
No one really knows what Trey will be yet. To have any inkling really one way or the other is showing bias.

I do know one thing, he won't fail because of the size of his calves.

I'm telling ya he's not right in the head, he's trying to cat fish everyone...I've talked to him on twitter. Basically calling him out on his b******t "scouting" career, stealing others work, getting fired from whatever football related blog hired him for a min. Couldn't give me anything of substance as to why Lance will be a bust outside of the fact that he played in the FCS and is young. That's not scouting lol.

I told him if you want this fan base to respect you at all, then stop treating us like we're stupid and know nothing about football...he said he wasn't doing that. yeah right. Dude doesn't even work for Cohn anymore, I've never seen Grant fire someone after a month lol. He has no reason to talk about Lance outside of getting some engagements.

Imagine thinking Tebow is a good QB after watching him throw lol.

Dude is nuttier that squirrel s**t.
Its the offseason. Media people will say anything short of blatant slander to get attention during the down time. Nobody is required to give sources anymore, so they just make crap up and post as actual news. Sports media has become a dumpster fire.

Obviously Shanahan has been annoyed with Garoppolo's constant mistakes, and wanted someone who could execute his full playbook. Trying to suggest that he's clinging to Garoppolo because he doesn't like Lance is a take directed at the dumbest sports fans who will believe it.

I've spent way more time than I should reading up on this dude but I like comedy so that's why I did. There's an article he wrote in 2014 about how Tebow will be a HoFer. At first I was thinking that's fine, Tebow is a young prospect and sometimes you simply fall in love with a prospect. Then I realized Tebow was drafted in 2010 and by 2014 he already showed the league how crappy a QB he was.

here, so we can all dismiss anything this dude says about QBs. Again, this is in 2014 when the league knew Tebow sucked:

No, Tim Tebow is still a future Hall of Fame caliber quarterback. Tim Tebow is still a quarterback capable of winning multiple Super Bowls. I stake my scouting reputation on those statements.

From what I've seen out of Trey, if he's underwhelming then Jimmy is the failure of the NFL world. Every effing coach In that locker room apparently caught Mediocre Jimmy "nice as hell guy" itis

HAHA yeah he's been called out about that plenty, he just changes the topic real quick.
