I was actually surprised Jimmy made 16th on The Athletic QB rankings, with a few Tier 2 nods. Now that he's all but gone as a Niner, he's allowed to be "good".

This new school of QB mechanics LITERALLY teaches them to use more elbow than shoulder, so that they can throw side arm, for more off-platform throws. It wouldn't be surprising if his arm was tired. No clue who lobs is.

Look I'm a big fan of Trey and was jumping for joy when we drafted him, I just wish they would have left his mechanics alone. All of the "project" talk was stupid, and only said because he was coming from a small school. He was a polished QB. NOW he looks like a project, and Shanahan is running him like he's Cam Newton, which is a disservice to his development as a passer. Hopefully this season looks very different than his games/reps last season.
