So good he opened up a portal to someone getting possessed in the background just watching him. Sound on.

Gave the m'fer a seizure.

LOL. So good!

You could say there was a bit of hyperbole with the elbow pointed to the* sky part of my comment, but the ball is waist high to below waist high and below his elbow. Chicken wing.

When he was moving I saw that ball drop below his waist, but when he was almost stationary, ie moving in a phone-booth area, I thought his mechanics were pretty tight. I didn't see him dropping his passes below his waist in those instances.

This is correct

Disagree, I think to a certain extent you can work with a players natural movement, but good mechanics does improve accuracy and power. I saw Bernie Kosar play with that side arm throw, (he seemed to be literally throwing it from his hip) and the 49ers destroyed him because his mechanics were terrible. I think, over time, because Trey is so diligent - those mechanics will continue to improve next year and the year after and so on. He is still very raw in a lot of ways.

Love to see the kid putting in the work

Most of the passes in the clips he was moving, but in the example I highlighted (from the KNBR tweet) he was not. And it was a very short pass to have that kind of windup. His mechanics are a work in progress so I'm not trying to expect perfection immediately. I'm also not trying to lie to myself either though.

Yup. Strong mechanics are key to consistent ball placement/accuracy.

Personally, his mechanics from NDSU and today is night and day. Much quicker, less windup, his footwork also looks sharp since his NDSU days. Yes he's still dropping the ball below his waist, but when you are moving your feet while throwing - there is some balance issues there, I'm sure. But yeah, *work in progress* is the best way to define him right now.

I'll wait to watch it in game first. It's hard to compare these short passes in practice on air, against his footage from college where he was throwing a lot of intermediate and deep throws down the field.

A lot of mechanics is also anticipation. I know Joe had excellent mechanics, but his anticipation of the defensive coverage was upwards of 85% to 95%, so when you know where the ball is going prior to the snap, you can set and throw, vs a guy like Colin who's always late throwing to the open windows and had to gun it in there because he couldn't anticipate. P.S. what irritated me about Colin's mechanics was that baseball windup, at least Trey doesn't have near the elongated baseball windup that Colin had.

You can see it on multiple throws, but the easiest example is the 2nd to last attempt at ~ the 50 second mark.

First of many training camps as a starter, happy to be on this ride.

Yup! Looking forward to all the possibilities this guy brings. The sky is the limit right now.
