Clueless fans will always overreact for practice performances. At this time Chiefs fans were panicking, asking for the FO head for trading away Alex Smith while they watched their redshirted 22 years old kid throw 7 picks in 6 practices. And lets not forget they had an abomination of a defense that year.

May we also remember when Brian Hoyer was like a training camp All Pro?
Oh sure if the offense was firing then clueless fans would be crying about how bad the defense is, am I right?

Bingo! Nice context.

Exactly lol even Shanny said it in the presser today, he's practicing to see what windows he can and can't hit. He's learning what his tight windows are against a tough secondary, I can guarantee during the regular season he will be a lot more careful with the ball. It's why I didn't care about his completion percentage on Wednesday even though it was good it was short passes. Deeper passes means tougher passes

Learning from mistakes is a real thing.

But he reality is we have used 3 first and a 3rd to get over the hump with a SB caliber team. Can't lower the bar now.

Btw, Jimmy is gone. He has no bearing on this teams wins or losses, as currently constructed.

The bar is about individual QB play. There are so many factors that go into winning, and winning in the playoffs. Jimmy has been the absolute sh*ts in the playoffs, yet we won. If Lance is lights out in the playoffs and we lose, it should be obvious that the blame should be assigned elsewhere.

And the backpedal is set up! Lol amazing

First of all, QB position is dependent on a lot of other factors. So even then it's difficult to set the bar at "individual QB play".

Second of all, I've already stated that in one and done game scenarios, like the playoffs, anything can happen. Best team, or QB, doesn't always win. That's why my bar is at the very least reaching the playoffs.

These guys literally think that football is merely "a sum of its parts." Take out Jimmy G, insert Trey (or any ol' QB) and voila! The team will be better. It's so ridiculous it's hard to even have a conversation when that's the starting point.
maiocco saying trey's throwing a tighter spiral and looks more accurate
There is 44 days until Chicago there is going to be many ugly practices and many good ones until that day so we better get use to it. It's also going to happen during the season it's a very young QB with not a lot of experience but a lot of talent so there is going to be a ton of ups and downs. Patience and trust he turns into what we feel he will become is what matters most.

Im confused. You don't like the bar being individual QB play because it's dependant on a lot of other factors. But somehow the bar should be making the playoffs, as if that bar is somehow not dependant on a lot of other factors?

When you're not dealing with a broken index finger that tends to happen

Zero backpedaling from me. I think from an individual standpoint, I believe Lance can come close to replicating what Jimmy did last year at minimum. I refuse to put the bar at the NFCCG because from a QB standpoint, ours didn't really do anything in the playoffs to get us there.

It doesn't always work that way, but you would have to be braindead to believe it's not possible.

True. We could have easily lost against the Cowboys and the Pack but our D/ST and a little bit of luck saved the days.
No excuses for failure here. Playoffs or this season is a huge let down. And yes there is definitely more positions than QB but I still feel this team is too good to not make the playoffs. That's if the team stats relatively healthy obviously. Trey doesn't have to be hero, just be smart. I have full faith he'll be fine.

I agree with that.

You said team wins should not be used as a bar because it's dependent on other factors. That QB should be the bar. Well, QB is also dependent on other factors. they are both dependent on other factors, If you break it down, like you did with playoff wins and losses. That's my point. It was poorly worded.
