Nah it was a pretty common thing in the draft threads.

All the other QBs played in gimmick offenses but because NDSU runs an NFL offense, Lance was the most ready to run one.

Popted on April 28th 2021...

Lance ran a more pro offense then any of these guys...he was calling protections, he was getting half the play then changing the play at the LOs based on the pre snap coverage. He was calling out lengthy play calls. He was going into huddles. He was taking snaps under center.

dude was basically running the same offense that we run.

Mac Jones was always thought of as the most NFL ready QB. Always.

Yes sir. The issue with Mac was that he was considered to have the lowest ceiling. I would of been perfectly fine with us taking Mac, even though it wasn't the "sexy" pick.

overall I'm very happy with our selection so far.

I think there was two separate questions that are getting conflated.

- Who ran an offense most similar to Shanahan in nature (run based, play action etc)

vs

- Who was the most pro-ready QB to step in to the NFL from College.

Posted on same day. APRIL 28 2021 talking bout Jones

Why is he the most pro ready? He's played 17 games

He's only started 17 games (1 yr starter), the same number of games as Trey Lance

I was thinking he would be a great option at 12 but after the trade up I wanted Fields, Lance or Wilson.

agreed i wouldnt have hated Mac at 3 i actually wanted him more than Fields but Wilson an dLance were my top picks

Lance wasnt even close to pro ready coming out QBs had more throws in 1 year than he did in his career. But the offense he ran was similar to a pro style offense but i never got the hype from a lot of people here demanding he started in year 1 that was never in the 49ers plan and it wouldve been a bad idea

Treyexcuses in full force already.

I'm rooting for him but damn everyone is bending over backwards to pump up the good and brush off the bad.

not a good start to the most pro nfl offense ready QB we were told.

I thought he was coming from the most pro style offense in college, compared to the other first rounders.

Given there's only a handful of QB's in college who run one, technically that's true. But given the low volume of total snaps and the fact that he ran out of many of those, he was still very raw (no matter the system).

And then there's Kyle's pro-style system. LOL

Is that what he calls it? Lol

Kyle doesn't even know what he calls it. Just don't call it a WCO. LOL

Interceptions period is not a good thing. It's only training camp so it doesn't really mean much but it's clear that there will definitely be some spin jobs going on this season

Like pretending Mac Jones played well in the playoffs? It's possible.

Mac Jones was under a lot of pressure when he dropped back to pass in that post season game. He had a 96.8 passer rating while under pressure. He did throw 2 int's with a clean pocket though.

Yeah, pressing probably. Probably not enough to win the game either way.

Not good enough to win the game, no. Stayed in the pocket too much.
