vs

- Who was the most pro-ready QB to step in to the NFL from College.

Yes on both for Lance, but still not enough to be a NFL starter...until now.

Nah it was a pretty common thing in the draft threads.

All the other QBs played in gimmick offenses but because NDSU runs an NFL offense, Lance was the most ready to run one.

Mac Jones was always thought of as the most NFL ready QB. Always.

Mac will need a Randy Moss/Julio Jones type wr to do any damage past 15/20 yards. In other words he'll need 2000 Raven's D to take the Bills/ Chiefs. He is not capable of scoring with those guys. Lance is. So the 5-15 yard machine or an arm and legs with the firepower to score fast in this league???? This isn't the 80's anymore
I'm sold on Trey Lance from what he did last season. I don't think Trey Lance should play much in preseason. Preseason games are worthless and d coordinators don't even try.

Yup. We wouldn't run our stuff with him in there anyway.. want to save that for Week 1. Give him a series or two like a normal starter then it's time for Suds.

I actually agree, those reps playing against an actual team would help.
Last year in the early season, the 49er starters would screw up formations and run the wrong routes. All it's going to end up in is Trey Lance having to scramble and make a play on his feet.

Limit preseason! Trey Lance is too good. Treat him like a proven starting QB1. A good drive or two and in a preseason game and pack it up. We already know what he can do. I really don't believe preseason experience means anything.

I'm rooting for him but damn everyone is bending over backwards to pump up the good and brush off the bad.

not a good start to the most pro nfl offense ready QB we were told.

I thought he was coming from the most pro style offense in college, compared to the other first rounders.

Given there's only a handful of QB's in college who run one, technically that's true. But given the low volume of total snaps and the fact that he ran out of many of those, he was still very raw (no matter the system).

And then there's Kyle's pro-style system. LOL

Which is predominantly a run first offense.

Yup, play Trey on the first preseason game, the last two pre-season games are on astro-concrete. so I'd definitely limit him on the last two games to see if Sudfeld and Purdy can bring anything to the table.

Trey doesn't have Moss/Julio and Ravens alltime great defense, but he does have himself a Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, Juice, and Mitchell, along with an elite Defense. Let's see what he gets done. Should be greatness.
Most pro-ready QB in the draft doesn't mean Pro-ready. Argument against Lance was being made that it will take 3-4 years for him to become a starter in this league. That he'll have to sit for at least 2 years before becoming a starter in the NFL.

I think last year proved that none of the QBs were ready for NFL - as expected. I still think Lance will see the biggest growth spurts from year 1 to 2 to 3 - bc what he truly lacks is experience of reps - which is why I believed he should have been given all the 1st team TC reps last season and made a starter. He will have to go thru those growing pains this year.

lol no. Reps are critical. He should have received more reps last season and he absolutely should get as many reps as possible before the season starts. If I am the coach - I am playing him 3 quarters in 1st two games and half a game in the last pre-season game.
Like I said, players are ready to win now. Not a throw away year. LFG!! Bring that Lombardi Lance!

...and Lance is the best QB on the team for that.
