Trey Lance looks amazing. I think if the o-line is there, he'll be a top 3 QB in the NFL this year...he looks so damn good man!!!

I expect growing pains regardless, but do hope he has time to read a defense and not get into the habit of running for his life.
This team goes as far as the interior o line will take it

It is getting very annoying Trey having to play off schedule a ton. We already know he can do that. The scramble drill is good for our receivers...not used to that so that part is good. But damn, let the man take a shot gun snap, plant and throw from the pocket.

Agree with this.

Wait wait wait....just noticed something.

....with such high "expectations" you supposedly have,...why does another thread have your prediction for this season being 10-7??

Which version of what you supposedly think is the truth?

I accounted for struggles that come with an inexperienced QB. But still have us going to the playoffs, due to a stacked roster and with Lance hopefully living up to the hype. I don't see the problem. I needed to pencil them in at 20-0 with a SB win, in order to claim high expectations for this roster. Not the gotcha moment you think it is lol

??? Where do the higher expectations come in then? You expect to see a repeat of our performance last year, record-wise.

Does this mean I can interpret your previous quote to mean "No Excuses to have a losing record this year." Based on your record prediction that sounds fair, right?

So long as you aren't jumping off the ledge on our way to 7 losses,....then fine with me.

Top 3 is probably a little much for this coming year, he'll still have ups and downs.

The list of QB's I'd take over him long term is getting smaller by the day though.

Currently I'd take Josh Allen and Pat Mahomes, probably Joe Burrow.

I'd think about Herbert but probably say no, purely because Trey seems to carry himself better and would probably be better suited to handle adversity.

For me everyone else is either too old or doesn't have his potential.

He'll get there. He needs the reps (and lots of it) to get that instinct to throw to the right spot like some of our past legends. He won't get there unless he can defeat the blitz. That's probably why Kyle's getting him some pressures to get his internal passing clock faster. When the blitz comes you have to know where to go. One way is to anticipate the blitz, via down and distance, the other is just sheer reflex on both the receiver and the QB. That takes time, and lots of it.

I love the optimism, honestly, I'm not there yet. Training camp tells us too little.

My faith mostly comes from his attitude and work ethic.

When you put that with raw talent and add great coaching and supporting cast the sky is the limit.
I get more excited every day. This young man is giving me a lot of hope for the team. I am hoping I can be patient for the first half of the season while he gets his game legs under him, but every story I read gives me a good feeling about him. Not a Mayo type tingle yet though, but close .😂

i love Lance too i was one of the few who wanted him the most out of all QBs but this is just a homerisim take

the 3 you listed for sure i would take over Lance it isnt close I would also take Herbert without a doubt too and honestly as it stands today i would take Murray as well

A homerism take? Yet you've given 1 extra name!

I'd overlooked Kyler, but he's in the Herbert camp for me. I'd consider it, but again personality would probably lead me to Trey.

Kyler is no leader, and I doubt his ability to overcome adversity.

At worst, all our receivers are getting reps working on off schedule plays. They were horrible at this under the few times Jimmy got outside the pocket. Now they absolutely have to stay alive and work off body language and chemistry. They're getting a ton of this early.
