Keep it boring out there in preseason.. goal is he's healthy Week 1 that's most important.. I look forward to Sud in the preseason I think he can get a lot of work and light it up.. that will increase his profile around the league.

Agreed. 1 quarter max and get him out of there. I expect an announcement before week 3 that Lance us not playing

I disagree. Trey needs as many reps as possible. Keep it vanilla but let the kid fling it.

He's getting the reps everyday in practice.. without the risk of big guys trying to end him..

Those are the types of reps he needs.

Calm down there Ivan Drago.. this is supposed to be an exhibition

But he's right. Live bullet reps are what he needs.

And you know this how? Did he call you up afterwards and tell you that's what he meant? It seems to me the more reasonable explanation is that Bosa knows the team is stacked and that they have elite players at almost every level on both sides of the ball and that if Lance lets the game come to him and doesn't try to do more than is required while he gains experience and gets his feet under him then he'll be okay. I swear the ceiling for stupid takes in this forum just keeps getting higher and higher.

Also, I really don't think Jimmy Garoppolo lost his job because of mistakes, but because he couldn't ultimately create enough offense on his own when needed.

We didn't lose to Seattle in 2019 at home because he made mistakes, but because in crunch time he couldn't create.

We lost the Super Bowl for the same reason, and to the Rams this past season as well. If we didn't get the blocked punt in Green Bay, maybe same thing there too.

People seem to liken Jimmy to a game manager, yet the ultimate never made a mistake game manager, Alex Smith, essentially got replaced for the same reasons as Jimmy.

Bosa IMO sees that the QB position for the 49ers is not like most teams........create enough offense and don't make too many mistakes and you're set. The other implication is that he knows Lance can "create" more than Jimmy, so if he can game manage roughly the same, then by default he's a better QB (maybe a lot better).

Dude could just fly once he hit the burners.
Kittle on Trey:

"I think he's got a ton of ability, and ... what we do with some of the run game stuff, we can get in the empty [backfield], and we can run gap scheme power with him running the football, which you don't really see a lot of teams do," Kittle shared. "Hey, you know what's crazy? If you have Trent Williams, George Kittle, and Mike McGlinchey running gap scheme power, hey, good luck, especially if you're going against a nickel or a dime defense. Hey, good luck getting blocked, man. Hey, have fun.

"There's just a lot of things we can do with it. He's also got a canon. He can throw deep balls. And honestly, like I said, he's just gotten better, progressively. And we have what? Twenty days of camp left where we've got a couple of preseason games, and we have a nice 16-day block right there after the third preseason game where we can really refine some stuff and see what we want to do with our offense, and I'm really looking forward to that."

Yeah but he was outrunning linebackers and defensive backs. He was basically torching everyone on the field.

4.53 is really good for a QB. But when he hit full speed nobody was catching him
"RG3 was such a different runner," Williams said after admitting that he doesn't see many similarities between what the 49ers are doing with Lance and what Shanahan did with Griffin in Washington. "It's such a different style. He had track speed. All the plays were designed to get him on the edge. We never ran a quarterback power or a quarterback sweep with RG. It was all about getting him on the edge, getting him to threaten people with his feet, with his speed, and then hitting the play-actions off of that.

"I think Trey is much further along as a pocket quarterback. As a runner, he doesn't have the track speed RG had, but he has the size, so we can send him up the middle on power, QB power, or like we've seen in Green Bay, the QB sweep. We never did that with Robert. We can do that with Trey. It's just a different skill set with running the ball that, as far as a quarterback, I think he gives us an ability to do more because he's a willing pocket passer.

"We've got outstanding receivers, and if the quarterback can't get them the ball, they're kind of obsolete. I think that's what he does, and that's what's going to give us a chance. And I think that's why Kyle and them [drafted] him, because of the things that he can do. It gives you the RG3-style offense and the Jimmy Garoppolo-style offense merged in one."

Joe Montana probably needs to have another talk with Trey's teammates.

Lance running style is closer to Cam than it is RG3.

Although, Cam was probably more athletic and nimble than Lance for their size.
