Wasn't he kind of forced to coach Jimmy?

You're suggesting that the team signed Jimmy to a five year contract without Kyle's blessing? I don't believe that for one second.

Probably not, but Kyle didn't know about the Jimmy trade until after It happened. So it's not like Jimmy was Kyle's QB to begin with either.

Kyle actually said he was sick fir a while because he knew it meant missing out on Kirk.

Sure Shanahan scouted Jimmy when he was with the Browns. But in 2017 we all knew who he really wanted and his name wasn't Jimmy.

we were also in the running for Stafford. TBH im glad we did not get him but with him we probably win the SB last year i just wasnt in favord of spending that many first for what i thought would be 2 good years

Already they are reports of stafford elbow flaring up. I wantes a young QB like Watson (pre allegations obviously) or a draft pick so long term i think we made the right decision

but its clear KS was happy with Jimmy G but wasn't content and wanted an upgrade

We drafted the right guy In the end ( hopefully )

There's a reason half his staff and 90% of the media thought it was Mac. But to your point, it's moot now. Kyle would have had success with either.

If Kyle can get Trey to high efficiency levels while maintaining the added athletic abilities on top of that, the sky's the limit.

Best of both worlds.

If anything, the NFL has taught us you can win Superbowls with both skill sets as long as you're playing at a very high level and you've got the team around you to maximize that skill set.

Something I've wondered for a while now, is will it eat away at Kyle if Mac succeeds and Trey fails? If he knew it in his heart and didn't follow his instincts due to public outcry. If he ends up losing his job because of it. All hypotheticals but I just bet he thinks it.

I would have loved to see him in this offense with these weapons. Would have been pretty to watch.
Sounds like the anti Trey aka Jimmy crowd are showing the next wave of their attack by being the should have been Mac! crowd lol

You can be pro JG last year and pro TL this year it's not an either/or.. it's called being a fan of the players on the club which is what a fan is..
You guys are nuts if you think Mac would look any better here than he did in NE.

Youre nuts if you don't think any QB wouldn't look better here with what we have compared to NE

He probably would look better with the weapons we have compared to NE's, plus Shanahan calling plays. His limitations would remain the same though.

You guys are in denial.

You don't move up to #3 just to take a look at a guy. You don't trade 2 firsts to look at a guy. Fields was never in the conversation. Shanny said it was always Mac and Lance.

They moved up because they didn't want to get leap frogged on Mac. Thats clear. Once they leapfrogged then they had an opportunity to evaluate trey.

Why is this so complicated. Just accept it.

Then it's just like Dante Pettis. Glad value was explained to Shanny before they made such a dumb move.

There's no spinning how trading 2 1sts and a 3rd in addition to the 12 pick is a good move for a guy who eventually went 15. We actually KNOW what the value of Mac Jones was around the league, it's not just guessing like it normally is.

Doubt it. Mac cant throw against man coverage when he has to rely on his arm rather than his head like in zone.

Swapping JG for Mac would be swapping one limited QB for another. He is enticing due to his execution but the story is the same... limited. It takes a good 16 games to figure out a QB then that QB has to elevate his game to continue his success, most teams are gonna play man vs him and dare him to beat them with his arm which means he's f*cked.
