one more thing people keep mentioning. They say that Jimmy G's release masked this OL's s**tty ass play. And I 100% agree with that. But thats also not supposed to be a good thing. Yes, he had a quick release, almost like a flicker. But this often times led him developing terrible footwork habits. And he never developed a proper delivery, which is why he threw some weird balls sometimes.

Well maybe after it finally dawns on this team that the OL is s**t, they'll finally spend some money on a top dollar offensive linemen that can PP. Lance is gonna actually need this.

And this is the best conclusion to draw from that game. I won't go as far as some and say that Kyle undervalues this position group, since we have the best in the league playing there, but I'm starting to believe we need a new OL coach that can at least get more out of the current players than Mr Coke video.

yeah, we were basically gifted Trent for free. And Joe Staley was a McCloughan pick. So far, this regime doesn't actually inspire much confidence that they can develop young offensive linemen,

Also, if Aaron Banks doesn't end up being solid, I am calling for Foerster's head. You can't tell me that he wasn't involved in that decision because its unbelievable. McGlinchey is obviously walking next year, and they need a new RT. I would want someone else involved in that decision if the OL doesn't show leaps of progress this season.

I disagree with everything they said. They emphasized his completion percentage and passer rating in a monsoon game with multiple penalties, a Deebo fumble, and Jennings giving away a sure touchdown. They also didn't mention Trey converting 8/17 third downs which is excellent, either by him passing or running himself. They also didn't mention that half of his pass attempts were towards the end of the game when the rain REALLY started coming down hard. They also didn't mention that the Bears were able to pressure him on 50% of his attempts without blitzing ONCE. Rushed 4 guys, covered with 7, in a monsoon. No QB would have done well dealing with all of that.

Trey is going to be a star. If you can't see that after Sunday then I don't know what the f**k you're watching.

Edit: Not personal to you, just tired of reading all of this hateful b******t from these biased haters piling on after a tough loss. It's sickening.

There's so much to unpack here that I don't I'm not even going to attempt to do so. Not gonna lie. lol you bring up some good points though that they didn't touch on.

your one of the better posters on this board. So I'll just agree to disagree on this one.

How can they and me both make good points when our viewpoints are exactly opposite? Lol. You're a good poster as well. Go back and watch the game. Forget the score, result, etc. Just watch how s**tty the OL played, every pocket was compromised. Trey never panicked. Moved within the pocket, kept his eyes downfield. Made some throws into very tight windows in crucial 3rd down situations. Ran for several 3rd down conversions. Didn't take any big hits. Had some really nice chunk plays throwing the ball.

Yes he missed an open TD, and missed Deebo on one 3rd down. Every QB makes mistakes. But in terrible conditions, he produced yardage. We outgained the Bears 330-200 yards, totally dominated them. Just some really bad breaks and a ton of penalties (many of which were questionable).

I wanted playoffs. But if the season is a throw away for Lance development then I want those wins you listed but include the Raiders game. I don't want to hear my cousins talk s**t. They already talk enough s**t about Lance being a waste of draft picks and a bust that I wouldn't be able to handle a loss to them. Might end up in county lol

I was referring to the bold. Those are positives in lances game yesterday that they didn't touch on.

I recorded the game. I'll give it another viewing when I get a chance to see if my eyes were deceiving me yesterday.

Gotcha. I think I'm going to upgrade my NFL Ticket so I can rewatch games and get the all-22 access.

Lol this is not a "throw away" season and just let Trey develop. You think that's going to fly with vets like Trent and Kittle let alone the whole team that's built to win? 1 game in and because Trey and the whole offense don't play like the 01 rams in a monsoon and all of a sudden it's a throw away.

Kyle is trying to do what the Steelers did with Big Ben and the Jets did with Sanchez and that's win with a young qb while the experienced team around him is well built, carries and helps the young qb while hopefully the the young qb can play well enough and develop at the same time. Both those teams got far with their young qb at the time with Ben winning his 2nd year

I agree with the bold. I've posted these opinion before.
Im just saying if the season ends up being s**tty in terms of wins and losses then I would like those wins listed by OP as well as beating the Raiders.

well find out more this weekend when we face another one of our easier opponents. Then it's Broncos and Rams after that. It can get away quickly.

I think people are not giving the players enough credit thinking they are going to go whining to the coach if things aren't going their way. This is a close knit group and Trey is part of that group. Trey may not have been the starter last season but he was still around the guys building a relationship. Do you really see players gathering like an inner clique and going to Kyle and say " To hell with Trey, He is no good, give us Jimmy"? And Trent and KIttle have like $15 and $23 Million reasons to not care who the starting QB is.

LOL

I don't care if you said "if." This is a ridiculous thing to say after 1 game in a rainstorm.

That's a big thing to ignore or not care about in my post lol

At this point I have yet to see anything that justifies the investment we made in Lance.

What elite or even special skill set does he have? Yes, he throws a nice ball from time to time.

Anything else?

If he isn't ready or needs more time, then why the hell didn't he get every rep possible during our preseason games?

I wish him well though. Just a little frustrated with the overall plan.

Give it more than 3 starts. 🙄
