its crazy to see how many people have already given up on this dude with his 3 total starts in the NFL, one of them being in a monsoon. we have the most irrational fanbase in the league. give the dude a chance, its going to be funny seeing all of you gushing about Trey and buying his jersey by the end of the year

I wanted playoffs. But if the season is a throw away for Lance development then I want those wins you listed but include the Raiders game. I don't want to hear my cousins talk s**t. They already talk enough s**t about Lance being a waste of draft picks and a bust that I wouldn't be able to handle a loss to them. Might end up in county lol

LOL

I don't care if you said "if." This is a ridiculous thing to say after 1 game in a rainstorm.

Unfortunately a large number of this fanbase is made up of complete derps. I checked out the Bears official FB page right after the game to see what their fans had to say. I scrolled through hundreds of comments, and never found a single one saying that Lance sucked, Fields is better, the 49ers sucked, anything. Most of the comments were focused on how bad the Bears looked for most of the game, and that they got bailed out by us shooting ourselves in the foot.

Imagine scrolling Facebook looking for drunken, trash talking comments bashing the opposing team and finding none. Not all fanbases are equally football savvy. For the rich history the 49ers fans have to reflect on, we get so many embarrassing and short sighted takes.

There's a reason why most fan bases thinks our fans are the dumbest. I can't blame them at all tbh.

49ers fans are spoiled babies. Most expect every QB to meet the Joe Montana standard.

Agreed. The worst part is our fans will flip flop on a subject just to keep whining. Many of the same fans who said Garoppolo was trash last year are now calling Lance trash and suggesting it won't be long until Jimmy comes in because he knows how to win. 🙄

A lot of other fans think we have dumb ass fan base for believing Lance isnt a bust. I disagree with them.

Our own fans don't know enough about Lance yet to base an opinion like that on, let alone fanbases of other teams.

Those folks made up their mind about Trey the day he was drafted.

3rd quarter at 12:50 Lance runs a zone read and gives himself up at the end of the run. 99 totally drops all of his weight on Lance's head after he's on the ground. I remember this happening a few times including from Roquan Smith. Idk I could be off but it seems like the Bears d was trying to be a little dirty here.

No, is you who are ignoring each and every relevant fact, smearing out the details, because it is convenient to your argument.

First, I'm neither a Lance homer nor a Jimmy hater. And I can prove I am no Jimmy hater—I made this:

https://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/nfl/196068-new-homegrown-rating-metric-jimmy-controversially-ranks-12th/

Second, regarding YESTERDAY'S GAME. It is ASININE to ignore the extenuating circumstances and judge Lance without taking them into account. Lance was pressured nearly FIFTY PERCENT OF THE TIME, with ZERO BLITZES. Do you understand the significance of that? The Bears had 7 people on coverage every pass play (of course, play-action opening some holes up, but pressure was still there almost every time) and ALSO got pressure nearly HALF of those pass plays. That will affect your QBs performance.

Third, the rain was coming down like a torrential downpour. The reason I posted that gif was to remind everyone that even Jimmy Jesus played HORRIBLY in a similar monsoon.

Any judgment on Lance without seeing him in a situation where pass protection is reasonable and the weather isn't a dramatic hinderance is OBJECTIVELY STUPID. We can't know yet. And before you say, "But Fields!" Fields was able to make those big plays because of his MOBILITY, which is to Trey's mobility as Trey's mobility is to Jimmy's. Trey will never do what Fields can do. But from the pocket, Fields was god awful.

So, in summary, you are taking a viewpoint that is ignoring every relevant detail, and it's annoyingly familiar. I could guess everything from your religion to your political views from this tactic, and it's unfortunate.

"We were told pressure doesn't matter unless it results in sacks and hits." LOL

Webzone Forum =/= Facebook Fan Forum

Anonymity is a hell of a thing.

3-4 seasons

This little montage made me feel better about Trey's performance. Niners got punched in the mouth second half. Broken plays and back yard football got the best of them. We've seen the bad teams start 1-0 and good teams start 0-1.

QBs that won week 1: Trubisky, Fields, Brissett, Geno Smith, i'll throw Mills in here, Daniel Jones
QBs that lost week 1: Rodgers, Burrow, Ryan, Tannehill, Wilson, i'll throw Mac in here I think he's decent

I mean this list couldn't be more lopsided. If you think these QBs and teams will maintain their success throughout the season you have another thing coming. Let's not over-react to the Niners and Lance week 1 performance
