If a player is considered to have the IT factor, are there levels to the IT? Do Nick Foles and Eli Manning have more ITness than Brady since their IT was bigger (higher?) than Brady's in the SuperBowl?
I think I know what you mean by IT but the definition can vary per person.

Ehh, I think you're stretching my meaning. Foles had a great supporting cast around him, and Eli was an excellent quarterback and future Hall of Famer.. I would say he definitely had the IT factor. Remember when we lost to them in the playoffs? We were kicking his ass all game and with 49ers draped all over him he eventually made a big throw that eventually got them the lead.

I might have framed my question stupidly but I am curious how IT is defined. If a QB has a comeback drive in the final moments of the 4th quarter, is that a sign of the IT? If a QB sucks ass all game long then finally realizes he needs to snap out of it, is that a sign of IT?

I can't define IT but certain ppl have it. I would say Mahomes has IT. MJ had IT. For the 49ers the most obvious example is Joe Montana had IT. Unflappable this guy just wins play after play. 2017 JG seemed to have IT. It's not common to have IT. There is no definition but you can tell IT when you see it. What is IT? It's IT.

Yes to both. You know special when you see it. When a player consistently makes WOW plays despite his circumstances.

If a player performs well and makes WOW plays in quarters 1-3 but falters in the 4th quarter, does that player have the IT? When I think of IT, I think clutch factor. So in the above scenario, I'd say that player that does not have a high level of the IT.

Not upset about his missed throws or inaccuracies. That happens, especially in a s**t game where the ball is heavy and you can't get a good grip. I'm just disappointed I didn't get any wow plays out of this supposed transcendent talent. Something that made me say "ok! We got us one!".. I just saw a big guy with an arm who looked a little panicky and had a few good runs.

I did see that from the quarterback on the other side of the field, though. Before everyone replies with the "FIELDS SUCKS HE HAD 100 GIFTED YARDS BLAH BLAH"... I don't care, he made big plays for his team. Lance didn't.

Patience. Can you imagine how hard Treys brain is working right now just to survive? Hard to wow us when youre inexperience probably has you overthinking. I would like KS to just turn the kid loose. Fields made no plays until he started free styling. Lets wait until hes more comfortable. You didnt like the Jennings throw? The Aiyuk throw? The throw to Mccloud? Those were big time throws! Maybe you wanted to be wowed by Treys legs but Ive noticed he isnt really a dynamic runner like that. Hes never gonna be Vick, Jackson or even Fields in that area.

I can tell you're just pulling my chain.

You guys are hilarious!

Whats hilarious is posters making definitive claims about Lance after 3 games.

What you fail to realize is that many of us didn't like Lance prior to the draft for the same reasons we don't like him now. Our biggest fears have been confirmed.

The only thing that has been confirmed after 3 games is you are completely biased because you didnt like Lance prior to the draft.

So Mahomes, Jordan , Montana, and Jimmy have IT. Did Jimmy lose the IT after 2017 or is IT something that once you have it, you have IT for life?
Also, It's It is an ice cream patty in two cookies. Very yummy.
Week 1 TL Stat Watch

46%
164 yds
0 Td
1 INT

13 rush
54 rush yds

His rank in rating is 31 of 32.. however we can take heart there was obvious weather issues.. plus the bottom of the ratings are Rodgers, Stafford, Burrow, Lance, Dak. Lot of good names there.

Projection

2788 pass yds

918 rush yds

2 of those throws were off of immaculate design. Lance had a clean pocket and just delivered the ball. That was 7v7 stuff. He's not a dynamic runner, I don't care about that.. but neither is Rodgers and he finds ways to keep plays alive.

And you are all biased because Lance was the pick so you have to love him and make Treyscuses all day long.

You have seemed to go back and forth on whether or not you value QBR more or if you value passer rating more.

Point to one excuse I have made for the kid. Just one. All I said is its been 3 games. If you find that to be a "treyexcuse" or me loving him, thats a YOU issue.

I'm not. It's such an abstract and intangible thing that no one has a definition for. It sounds like a fallback term used when a well defined trait isn't used. Just say you think a player sucks instead of "he doesn't have the IT".
Because, like I said above, I think of "clutchness" when I hear about the IT, and Lance hasn't been in enough situations for us to measure his ITness.
Well.....glad to see the conversation has elevated from last year.....

You know special when you see it, brother. I never saw it in Trey in college, or last year, or this preseason or in game 1. That's all I'm saying. Big kid, big arm.. he can take hits and pop back up and sling the ball with a lot of velocity. But I haven't seen anything else in his game.

Special... It... Juice... Sauce... call it what you want.
