69% seems kinda high for a bust who sucks.

It slightly makes up for the dozen or so horribly unlucky 3rd and 4th down rush attempts that he came up short on last season.

What, in his first ever start?

Half a Seahawks game & first two starts got stopped short of a 1st down an uncanny amount of times with his legs. I once had it tabulated, but I lost my notes. I am glad to see clutch 1st down yardage with his legs this year.

That is what we all should be looking for; progress and development.

Fr. The guy needs to play in order to get better but he is far from being a bust. If Trey does have a "SB caliber roster" around him, they sure in the hell didn't show it in CHI.

I've been beating the drum that THIS IS NOT A SB ROSTER. Playoffs roster it is, but there are way too many question marks in addition to QB to crown us. This is an essentially rookie interior OL with a right tackle that sucks at pass pro. The defense is legit and talented, but also seems to lack discipline. We are not Jedis yet.

Agreed.

The one thing I can say about the guy is he moves up in the pocket and keeps his eyes downfield wanting to throw. A lot of mobile QBs escape out and look to run not move up and look to pass. That is one of the things I like about him. Plenty of things I question about him but this isn't one

Yeah that is something you really only see seasoned vets doing

That is one of his traits that caught my eye last season. He is a natural at feeling pressure and climbing the pocket while keeping his eyes down field. Imo, that is not something you can coach.

Agreed with all of these comments. His instincts are spot on. Can he work on accuracy and decision making? Of course. But his instincts within the pocket and when to hang in for a split second longer versus take off and run are excellent already. These positive and explosive plays aren't going to go away, but the mistakes and missed opportunities slowly will as he gets more experience and becomes more comfortable.

Im with you on this. I'm not a big Trey fan but this is definitely a plus for him

This was a great pass on third down. The aiyuk pass in the first half, the juan Jennings pass was also nice. Like inside before I know he can do it, we need more consistency and more than 4 orn5 of these passes a game. I'm hoping Kyle opens up the passing game a bit more this week.

Not really special, this is expected NFL QB play for any starter in the league, a routine play... it was a simple concept executed against the coverage it was designed for... During the drop he looked outside-in to work the route combo to #1, came off to #2 at his popup and hitched, came off him and climbed the pocket to hit #3... Nice play with no mistakes but nothing to get excited about.

Curious why you are not a big fan?

Another thing I would add that's hard not to like, his attitude. He is very mature which is refreshing. So imo his head is proper, but does it translate through the body on game days lol

One thing I noticed is at random times he seems to have silly mechanics, but most of the time he was keeping it tight which is good. He can do a weird 3/4 arm angle throw that just hurts my arm thinking about torqueing a football that way lol

I think with each week of experience and the staff on his ass he should getting better.

So much truth in this statement and it doesn't happen sitting on the bench. Fans need to be a hell of a lot more patient with him. Calling for him to be benched in his first game as a full time starter, where he was pretty much the entire offense, is just lunacy.

The fullback analogy is accurate in that his instinct is to bull people over, he doesn't run a fast 40 and he's not agile squirrily or elusive.

You've proven the past few weeks that your posts can't be taken seriously, this is the icing on the cake. A "routine play" lol. Just stop.

The final two series he had should just be erased when coming to judge that game based on his stats. That's when the rain was really coming down. Can't even grip the ball in that condition.
