You can't even grade it. There's a difference between bad play verses not playing. He hasn't been JaMarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf. And the sample size is too small to judge what we have seen. It just sucks because it is going to be a long time before this guy gets extensive action.

At the time, I wanted us to beef up O-line, but when we made the trade, I wanted Fields. We got Trey Lance. Based off his pedigree and approach to the game, I support the decision. It sucks that his season is done, but we could have far worse problems. We are are a team that just won by 20, likely will win our division, and have a winner at QB. We have a talented guy ready to replace him if Jimmy can't lead us all the way. It could be A LOT worse.

Game 1 = 0 - 1.

Game 2 = Injured.

Jimmy G steps in and WINS.

How can anyone defend this moron for actively and almost purposely injuring his qb. Delay power runs with the guy you're supposed to protect and running him like a fullback.

Complete moron. And can only scheme down to the five yard line before he does other asinine s**t (he called a garoppolo delay rush from shotgun after he killed his first stringer for the season).

Niners coulda won this game by 40 on talent alone without a head coach. I'm tired of this f**king horses**t.

This is a massive disaster for the franchise, no way around it. Jimmy likely won't be back next year regardless of how he plays and Lance is losing a critical year of development. Lance isn't going to develop at all this year with a broken ankle. Yet, half the fan base is celebrating this and cheering that our 22 year old QB broke his ankle. They hate him because he had the audacity to get drafted and replace their preferred QB. It's really sad.

I saw no issue with the way he used him today. There was one designed QB run.

He got injured on a play that dozens of other QB's run regularly. Its football, injuries suck but they happen.

More than 1 designed run, and theres no reason he should be risking his franchise draft pick like that. Pure idiocy. We have running backs for going up the gut. If you want him to run, roll him out.

Then why even draft Trey if that is the logic?

If he was killing it in the air, those plays would not even be in the playbook.

Odds are THIS is what NFL effective Trey looks like at this point in his career.

What happen to Trey is an absolute freak injury. We have seen that...what....3 times in the last decade? Doesn't matter if Trey was the RB on that play or the QB... you can't predict or defend against that unless you're going to Tom Brady your QB, in which case you draft a different QB.

I don't think you understand what disaster is. It's not a great situation, but disaster? There are at least 20 fanbases that would trade places with us.

All they can do right now though is try to win the SB with Jimmy G this year and hope Lance recovers well to play well next season.

I understand your point and it's not like you're wrong but I still don't like it. Never will.

I feel horrible for Trey, but I'm stoked this team has a QB like Jimmy to step in. Our season is not lost, which we are very fortunate.
