I hope trey realizes that he will never get a fair shake here. Not with Shannahan as coach.

Yup, but these are the same people that believe in magical BS like "endless windows" and what not. The fact is this year, like last year, is a waste of time, and Trey is now two years behind if not ruined altogether. "But oh boy, we beat seattle, and I can't wait for us to lose in the playoffs again!"

Maybe one of these decades, if I'm not dead by then, I'll see a niners team luck themselves into a championship, but I'm not counting on it.

Im going to pay more attention to Buffalo, Baltimore, AZ, Miami. I'm willing to bet they are not running their QBs in the same exact formation 3-4 times in the first 2 series. Kyle has yet to put him in a position to be successful. The PC clearly changed once Jimmy was in.

Every young quarterback in the NFL is running that same play. Injuries are always unfortunate but blaming a coach for calling a play that the entire league is using, is next level potato logic.

I wouldn't have done it, but yeah, it was a freak injury. You'd never know we just won by 20 and are starting a career winner at QB with the takes happening right now. Zone gonna Zone.
So Jimmy walks in the off season and Trey is having his rookie year in year 3, I don't like this experiment

WAKE UP homie !!

Grrr how dare he calls a zone read, no one ever does that in the NFL! He should be all out "boy" because he was the starter. Shouldn't be any deeper than saying prayers for a speedy recovery and go Jimmy the rest of the year. Not everything bad has to have someone to blame.

Of course it's not Shanahan's fault.

no one calls inside zone for a qb. except our mastermind

This is a massive disaster for the franchise, no way around it. Jimmy likely won't be back next year regardless of how he plays and Lance is losing a critical year of development. Lance isn't going to develop at all this year with a broken ankle.

I don't think you understand what disaster is. It's not a great situation, but disaster? There are at least 20 fanbases that would trade places with us.

We lost our franchise QB for the season in week 2. It's a disaster.

And we are replacing him with a guy that has won 70% of his starts and been to two of the last three NFCCG. Oh the sky is falling. I repeat, you don't know what disaster is.

Again, we lost our franchise QB for the season you dips**t. Just because you wanted it to happen doesn't mean it's not a disaster.
And because you keep saying it's a disaster doesn't make it so. And guess what, the locker room doesn't think so either.

Injury wise I don't think this is really all that bad for Trey. I don't think he's going to lose any speed or athletic ability from this. I'm sure he will heal perfectly fine. It's time to get behind JG again and hope he can actually do something in the post season for once ( if we make it )

But that's not the main worry, injuries heal players come back and having a positive out look on the injury it's not knee ligament/nerve damage career altering. It's the lost time on the field and the same questions arising this whole off season leading to the season can Trey play blah blah. He just loses reps and time to get better that's the main issue.

Sure that portion sucks but he's incredibly raw and what only 21 or 22 years old? He's not even in his athletic prime yet. I'm not to worried about the lost time. Especially with the way KS was calling the gameplan with him.

If that's the way Kyle plans on using him then all I can do is hope Trey heals up and hope he survives and just goes on to another team. Because no way in hell will he reach his potential with that f**king 70's style play calling Kyle thinks he can win with in todays NFL. If I knew he would use Trey like this I wouldn't have an issue with taking Jones then. Just beyond reckless

No doubt in my mind the play calls were part of a setup for later in the game. He was trying to make them have to defend all 11.
It sucks Trey got hurt and probably out for the season, but injuries are a part of NFL football, that's why these players are paid millions for a reason.

I'm telling you, evil Pete always tell his defense to f**k up the 9ers. Remember the Saint DC who got in trouble for telling his D to destroy the 9er players? Same thing.

Blame Pete, Karma is coming for Pete, his time in the NFL is up!!!!

Ii don't blame posters for getting on Kyle for this. We were running the ball fine. Didn't need to keep running him up he middle.

That QB power should only be done a couple times per game. It's absurd to do it three or four times a quarter. Unless playoffs.

EDIT—On the other hand, when Garoppolo is your backup you have the luxury of doing it more.

Almost like each QB is better suited for a different style of offense, wild right?

you gonna protect your HC and say that the call was ok?

9moon - your history of posts basically takes all your credibility away. Devastating injury on a routine play. This is terrible for the niners. Hawks always injuring the niners

it was a freak injury but the risk of calling the play is unnecessary. Lance easily could get hurt with concussion or shoulder injury getting jammed in the turf. we rolled snake eyes grantede but the play call was dumb and risky. not conservative and smart. how you manage $8m dollar properties.

That's not my issue. My issue is he needed passing reps. And after last week with all those designed runs, you would've thought that having Trey let it loose should have been in the game plan.

If the offense we saw in Arizona, Chicago, and the beginning of the game is our plan for Trey.
We should have never drafted him.

I mean he was still gonna get pass reps. He's a threat to run and we want to use it all the same. If you're not gonna use in that fashion at all then yeah they shouldn't have drafted him.

it was a zone read nothing ridiculous. Just horrible luck and probably some shady s**t from the team that always seems to injure our players

Last week we decide to punt on a 4th and 1. And this week we go for it on a 4th and 8. Kyle certainly calls the game different for Jimmy and it clearly affects everyone. I'm just frustrated because I think Lance offers something in the pass game that Kyle couldn't unlock. I'm not blaming Kyle for Trey's injury, I'm blaming Kyle for Trey's lack of development.
