I said that last week. It's a very Kyle thing to do. Probably play this way the first 8 to 12 games to get it on film, then switch it up. In a way I like it, but it's like boxing. If you can knock a guy out, just do it and we have the players at RB and WR, and eventually TE that can knock defenses out. One plus for Trey, I expect he will have a better pass protecting O-line in 2023.

I mean he was still gonna get pass reps. He's a threat to run and we want to use it all the same. If you're not gonna use in that fashion at all then yeah they shouldn't have drafted him.

it was a zone read nothing ridiculous. Just horrible luck and probably some shady s**t from the team that always seems to injure our players

Last week we decide to punt on a 4th and 1. And this week we go for it on a 4th and 8. Kyle certainly calls the game different for Jimmy and it clearly affects everyone. I'm just frustrated because I think Lance offers something in the pass game that Kyle couldn't unlock. I'm not blaming Kyle for Trey's injury, I'm blaming Kyle for Trey's lack of development.

It was a monsoon last week and the field was swamped with water. I wish folks would stop using it as some kind of evidence of a larger whole. It was clearly an outlier.

Every young quarterback in the NFL is running that same play. Injuries are always unfortunate but blaming a coach for calling a play that the entire league is using, is next level potato logic.

I wouldn't have done it, but yeah, it was a freak injury. You'd never know we just won by 20 and are starting a career winner at QB with the takes happening right now. Zone gonna Zone.

it was a freak injury but the risk of calling the play is unnecessary. Lance easily could get hurt with concussion or shoulder injury getting jammed in the turf. we rolled snake eyes grantede but the play call was dumb and risky. not conservative and smart. how you manage $8m dollar properties.

My reason for being against it is that I'd just rather putting the ball in the hands of other playmakers- a dump off pass to Juice for example. It's a common play, but I'd just rather not.

I saw Daboll do it today with Jones lol. I've seen Murray do it. Jackson did it today. Newton for years. It's not some crazy call.

Part of this also gets it on tape for later to switch things up, yes. But part is also setting up future play calls in the same game. They will come back to that same look later and Trey will throw right when the D is expecting QB run again. Kyle is notorious with setting teams up early and coming back to those looks later to cash em in for a chunk play.

Show....anyone..... how often Trey has carried an NFL passing offense for a single possession like any of the QBs you just mentioned.

The Trey you saw this season was the version of the Trey that would work in the NFL.

Trey is not on par with any of the QBs you just mentioned.

that's because you're a SHANANIGAN and you see his play calling differently..

HAD Lance gotten hurt for scrambling, then that would be different.. but the fact that the play was for an OFF TACKLE QB RUN, (by design), that is putting any QB in danger.. especially since LANCE seems to NOT KNOW how to slide..
