Every young quarterback in the NFL is running that same play. Injuries are always unfortunate but blaming a coach for calling a play that the entire league is using, is next level potato logic.

I wouldn't have done it, but yeah, it was a freak injury. You'd never know we just won by 20 and are starting a career winner at QB with the takes happening right now. Zone gonna Zone.

it was a freak injury but the risk of calling the play is unnecessary. Lance easily could get hurt with concussion or shoulder injury getting jammed in the turf. we rolled snake eyes grantede but the play call was dumb and risky. not conservative and smart. how you manage $8m dollar properties.

My reason for being against it is that I'd just rather putting the ball in the hands of other playmakers- a dump off pass to Juice for example. It's a common play, but I'd just rather not.

it is not a common play for qb's. and even if it was, with lances history of facing up tacklers, which is well documented and a natural part of being 22 -- THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD CALL THAT PLAY AS A MATURE EXPERIENCED COACH THAT UNDERSTANDS HOW HUMN BEINGS THINK

Oh shut it. Blaming that on anyone is stupid. It's a call I saw happening today all over the place. Yeah and Koldo is objective in here. Please

Incorrect.

Daboll did it with Allen. Dorsey also does it with Allen.

I saw Daboll do it today with Jones lol. I've seen Murray do it. Jackson did it today. Newton for years. It's not some crazy call.

Yep.
Also you can't blame KS for playing aggressive. You can't play NFL offense playing scared, then you risk losing your edge to win. KS had no problem calling runs for Jimmy G today and Jimmy G did well. Part of it is Treys inexperience and not sliding when he should and can.. when you have Seattle killers coached to destroy you every chance they get by evil Pete!!!!

I would put the blame on evil Pete and the seachickens D, they ALWAYS GO FULL FORCE to hurt 9er players. Pete is going to get Karma in losing and force to retire now that Wilson is gone.

The kid works too hard for this to be the end.

There's no reason too. He got hurt and that's it

You're seriously asking how many times QB's are running the zone read in today's NFL? Like every single game. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, all running it consistently. It takes advantage of a younger group of QB's with the arm to make a throw or use their mobility to take off and gash a defense on a ground.

The play is routine, the outcome, unfortunately, is not.

No doubt in my mind the play calls were part of a setup for later in the game. He was trying to make them have to defend all 11.

And we were finally going to see Lance in a game set up for more passing later on...

Seriously, this is like the most catastrophic event at the most compelling moment possible...we've been waiting so long...

Ii don't blame posters for getting on Kyle for this. We were running the ball fine. Didn't need to keep running him up he middle.

Sadly I think there is a big part of Kyle that is happy Jimmy is the starting QB. Why? He doesn't have to think outside the box and change his offense to suit Trey. Allows Kyle to stay in his comfort zone.

Still think there was a big battle between Kyle and John. Kyle never wanted Trey and much preferred Mac Jones who he mold into Jimmy 2.0. Kyle demands accurately over a big cannon arm.

oh well Kyle. Now you don't need to lose sleep over a QB you never wanted.

Im going to pay more attention to Buffalo, Baltimore, AZ, Miami. I'm willing to bet they are not running their QBs in the same exact formation 3-4 times in the first 2 series. Kyle has yet to put him in a position to be successful. The PC clearly changed once Jimmy was in.

Almost like each QB is better suited for a different style of offense, wild right?

Crazy concept
Some are saying those were read option pass calls and Trey tucked the ball and ran with it. Not sure if that's just his comfort zone, but damn someone had to coach him and tell him to develop his passing game. Even Treys parents last year said he ran it too much in his starts.
Sucks he has to learn this way. I hope the kid heals fast without complications.
I have to admit I've lost some luster for Trey. The whole reason I started liking him was his character (was Team Fields, and the Mac and Lance were close). Now after this stripper video I wonder how much of it is talking the talk and how much is walking the walk.

Patrick Mahomes isn't going to be seen throwing money at a stripper. Because he has a wife. The best QBs are either married or have a simple life during the season. The ones with distractions like strippers and porn stars and video games will never be better than the likes of Kaepernick, Jimmy and Kyle Murray.

The Hall of Fame ones? Not so much.

EDIT—Since I know someone is going to say it: YES, young men do this kind of stuff. Young Hall of Fame QBs don't.

I can't blame Kyle for it but the truth is that Trey has suffered a severe injury on this kinda play in half of the games he has started.

It has to be a concern.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is writing this kid off by any means. It's time to be realistic, he's been injured in two seasons, has limited experience passing, and injured something that may hinder his biggest ability (running). I think the 49ers will hope for the best with Lance but they will need to look at drafting another qb early.

How is Jimmy different? He's not married and dates porn stars.

I expect better takes from you than this.
