Common sense people
No doubt in my mind the play calls were part of a setup for later in the game. He was trying to make them have to defend all 11.
I said that last week. It's a very Kyle thing to do. Probably play this way the first 8 to 12 games to get it on film, then switch it up. In a way I like it, but it's like boxing. If you can knock a guy out, just do it and we have the players at RB and WR, and eventually TE that can knock defenses out. One plus for Trey, I expect he will have a better pass protecting O-line in 2023.
Part of this also gets it on tape for later to switch things up, yes. But part is also setting up future play calls in the same game. They will come back to that same look later and Trey will throw right when the D is expecting QB run again. Kyle is notorious with setting teams up early and coming back to those looks later to cash em in for a chunk play.
I totally get it. I just think talent wise, man to man, we are better than most teams in the NFL. Just knock these guys out. Sadly we won't know until next year what's being set up. I'm optimistic though- Trey may be limited in experience in 2023, but the team will be even better. Aiyuk, Deebo, an experienced Gray, experienced Banks, and Burford, TDP, Mitchell, and Mason. The future is bright for the short term and long term.
