Yeah, I don't think anyone is writing this kid off by any means. It's time to be realistic, he's been injured in two seasons, has limited experience passing, and injured something that may hinder his biggest ability (running). I think the 49ers will hope for the best with Lance but they will need to look at drafting another qb early.
Good thing we have a 1st round pick to use
2nd, 3rd, fine. The point is that the team will need to explore other prospects in a way they probably wouldn't have hoped.

Im not writing Trey off but I'm close to writing off the game plan for Trey. Not a big fan of using a QB like a power back. Shanahan showed in the Cardinals, Bears, and Seahawks game that he wants to use Trey as a runner first.
Not a fan of that play style and it isn't sustainable. If what we have seen is the plan for Trey I would rather just move on. If I knew that this was the plan I would have preferred Jones even though I don't think he is good. The 49ers have been in QB purgatory since 99 and I don't see it ending anytime soon
Last week before the team went to s**t Trey was 8/13 for 130 odd yards
This week Jimmy was at one point 12/19 for 130 odd yards.
Tiny sample size sure, but that's why we drafted Trey, that extra talent. More yards per throw, better ability to spread the D, deep threat etc. Running is a bonus, but that shouldn't have been the reason to draft him.
Then we come out this week in better conditions (still not perfect) and 12/15 plays are runs with Trey having a 3 and 3 split in the run/pass.
It's not like Trey's passing was bad either. 2 completions and a good decision to throw it away when a defender ran free.
It's not the play that got him injured I dislike, more the series of plays that led up to it. I know we were making yards running the ball, but 80% rushing, including the QB 25% of the time. I just don't feel right about that, it seems so unnecessary and I can't shake the frustrating feeling that it also makes the injury feel very unnecessary.
FTR I'm not down on Kyle, but I do think he got the initial gameplan wrong this week and it then went wrong in the worst way.

Meh. We suck with high picks anyways. Would be more concerned with losing 5ths.

I have to admit I've lost some luster for Trey. The whole reason I started liking him was his character (was Team Fields, and the Mac and Lance were close). Now after this stripper video I wonder how much of it is talking the talk and how much is walking the walk.
Patrick Mahomes isn't going to be seen throwing money at a stripper. Because he has a wife. The best QBs are either married or have a simple life during the season. The ones with distractions like strippers and porn stars and video games will never be better than the likes of Kaepernick, Jimmy and Kyle Murray.
The Hall of Fame ones? Not so much.
EDIT—Since I know someone is going to say it: YES, young men do this kind of stuff. Young Hall of Fame QBs don't.
WTF is this?
It is what it looks like. I was hoping his play would improve enough to make this worry disappear, but now he's hurt, he can't play, so all I have to think about is that Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, Josh Allen and draft mate Justin Fields are looking like good ole boys. For the record Zach the Sack Wilson also kind of ruined himself by publicly banging a milf, as did Jimmy for banging a porn star. This stuff never ends well.

I mean you're gonna act like throwing money at a woman's ass on camera is becoming of a Franchise QB?
Dude is a 22 year old football player with friends that same age.
Hes not running for President or trying to start a ministry.

Ben Roethlisberger raped a woman when he was young IIRC.
Dude is going to be even more inexperienced next year. Compared to all these young QB's getting experience. Next year he will be in year 3 with very little starting experience while a lot of guys will literally be on YEAR 3. Not sure this is going to work out. Or even if we should have picked him. Certainly we gave up way too much. No doubt about that.

Worst post you have ever made on here.
You're entitled to that opinion, and I'm entitled to the fact that the best QBs are CEOs.

You're seriously asking how many times QB's are running the zone read in today's NFL? Like every single game. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Kyler Murray, Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, all running it consistently. It takes advantage of a younger group of QB's with the arm to make a throw or use their mobility to take off and gash a defense on a ground.
The play is routine, the outcome, unfortunately, is not.
INSIDE THE TACKLES? NO. you cant pretend that is happening. all those guys take it wide. where you dont find 350 lb nose guards
