Dallas Cowboys QB Trey Lance Thread

There's 16 weeks until the playoffs. 16! I know it needs surgery, but how bad is this? I didn't see any footage or replays showing anything.

I don't know how you'd be comfortable with a 3 year QB that has barely played. And didn't get any opportunities/reps to improve his passing game.

Jimmy won't be back next year. Either he doesn't play well enough to bother bringing him back, or he plays well enough to price himself out of the 49ers budget.

It'll almost certainly be Lance and Purdy next year, could have a different vet in the mix depending on who is available in free agency

Sucks that this is another wasted year for a guy they took #3 overall. Now everyone has to wait another year to see what they have in him but I'm not sure he will even get the opportunity again. Very depressing to see as a fan. Gave 3 1st round picks for a QB that likely will never get a chance to prove what he can do.

If the 49ers make the playoffs this season with Jimmy I don't think we ever see Lance again. Which is unfortunate but it is what it is

I am of the opinion that this is going to be a harder decision than you think. Especially if they make another deep playoff run.

Yeah we will see how Jimmy does this year. All those people wanting Jimmy to start now have their wish. Assuming he plays like he did the previous 4 seasons with us, he is somewhere between the 15th and 25th best QB in the NFL.

Since the 49ers wont know what they have exactly with Lance, they will need a strong safety net. Jimmy will make sense. Given no team traded for him, it's not hard to imagine he is back with the 49ers who shouldn't over pay for a guy no other NFL team was willing to trade for.

Of course lots can happen in the next 15 games including injury to Jimmy and possible development of Purdy. Purdy breaking out is probably their best option

It depends on the context and how he plays. Is he more driver or passenger. If we get Jimmy from Saints in 2019 then it's a different conversation.

I don't disagree. The whole situation sucks ass. I still believe that Trey can be a good QB. I just don't see Trey and Kyle being successful unless Kyle plays him like a QB
