Extremely high.

"Porter reported that at the final follow-up, at an average of 2.4 years after the index surgery, the average percentage rate of the ankle was 96.4% compared with the pre-injury status, and 12 of the 36 athletes rated their ankle at 100%. The mean scores of the entire population on the lower limb core modules were 94.6 for function and 98.0 for pain. The mean pain score of the entire population on the foot and ankle module was 98.1. All athletes were able to resume daily living activities, and all were able to return to their previous level of competition, with one exception. This athlete suffered a bi-malleolar fracture and feared re-injury. No objective evidence, psychological factors aside, supported the athlete's inability to return to competition."

Wait, so it's saying that it'll take 2.4 years to get back to 100%?

I know Dak had a similar injury and was back the next season. Hope he has a speedy and successful recovery.

You cant burn picks like that. Somebody needs to be held accountable for this s**t.

I don't disagree. The whole situation sucks ass. I still believe that Trey can be a good QB. I just don't see Trey and Kyle being successful unless Kyle plays him like a QB

He is not being played like a QB because he isn't ready.
He can't GET "ready" without playing. And now he's lost another year.

He better come out of this with the Wrath of God at his back.

Yes, but are you are willing to let him throw the ball a lot while doing it very ineffectively, be ause he is not ready?

A season ending injury can happen in any snaps.

Yes. I was willing to do it this year too. The only argument anyone can make about it is that this roster is "win now" and therefore we should "run it back." Well his injury gave you what you want. Run it back, and then next year we had TWO chances, and it's time to cut all ties with Jimmy and see if Lance is worth a fifth year option. If not, pray Purdy can be Jimmy (and I think he can).

Most fans are not willing to let Trey lose the season for us. They will want him bench at some point if they see he is ineffective. Many of them had wistful thinking and somehow believe he is ready but Kyle didn't let him play.
trey isnt over like some are saying. but he will need to reevaluate how he plays and kyle will need to reevaluate how he plays him. hes not lamar jackson

Dak Prescott broke his ankle in 2020 and led the Cowboys to the NFC East title last year (and Dallas had one of the best offenses in the league last year).

Dak was a proven thrower already, Lance still have to develop his pocket game. Next year, Lance would still be a rookie.

An ankle shouldn't mess with his throwing mechanics. Perhaps now Kyle won't put him in these situations as often anymore. It now has to be special occasions where Lance has an option to keep. I was fine with running Lance provided he protected himself. He kept lowering this helmet so it's on Kyle to protect him once Lance is back.

I think it is easy to slide in the open field, but it is hard to slide with so much traffic down the middle.

Kyle's response was that Buffalo runs the same play.

In one sense, people want him to be Josh Allen but then don't. Treys running is why we spent 3 firsts on him. I've been saying this since we drafted him.

thats to 100%. trey can be 80% next year and still be good
Kyle today.

Kyle a year ago.

No need to defend Kyle out of embarrassment. Defend him, just because he's being called out for something we all saw coming if he kept with the Card game s**t.

He didn't need to do it against the Texans... he didn't need to do it this year. Deep in the Playoffs, sure.. if we're desperate. But what's the point of have all these weapons we have on offense, if you risk your starter up the middle multiple times a game.... in a 17 game season.

It'll almost certainly be Lance and Purdy next year, could have a different vet in the mix depending on who is available in free agency

This. Jimmy either Bombs again in the playoffs and they say enough is enough or Jimmy plays really well and prices himself out of SF. Either way you can't pay Jimmy 30+ Million a year. Not for a QB that isn't top 10 and not when you have to pay Bosa and others. I think Niners would have to win the SB for them to even consider bringing Jimmy back and even then it's unlikely because of the price. And for the people who say well we keep saying that but Jimmy is still here, It's not the samething because Jimmy was still under contract.
The frustrating thing is Kyle didn't have to use Trey that way in this game. Seattle did nothing on offense. Save those runs when you need it.
There I was thinking that Jimmy's body was the problem, now I'm starting to think it's Shanahan that's the problem,

How many QB's have been hurt playing under Kyle?

Didn't our last 2 backups have injuries too?
Well wishes to Trey. Hope he fully recover by next season. Just snake bitten injury. You have guys like Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson ran the ball all season carrying their offense while learning and improving as passer. No major injury. Trey did the same in college. Nope.

But 1 and a quarter game into the season....a season ender ankle twister. Unreal.

Enough of the argument that running quarterbacks are not injured more than pocket passers. They are if they run up the middle. Running back have short careers, and quarterbacks aren't built as stocky as running backs.

Dude got hurt on 2nd possession of the game. The game was 3-0. How is Kyle to know that they wouldn't do anything rest of the game?

If Kyle played it safe he'd be getting crucified for that

It wasn't even a 3rd down he got hurt on. It was like 2nd and 6. Just a dumb play-call.
