Dude got hurt on 2nd possession of the game. The game was 3-0. How is Kyle to know that they wouldn't do anything rest of the game?

If Kyle played it safe he'd be getting crucified for that

Ever hear the expression that points come out of the passing game? Throwing it is not playing it safe. Running your quarterback is, except for your quarterback.

Jimmy won't be back next year. Either he doesn't play well enough to bother bringing him back, or he plays well enough to price himself out of the 49ers budget.

It'll almost certainly be Lance and Purdy next year, could have a different vet in the mix depending on who is available in free agency

This. Jimmy either Bombs again in the playoffs and they say enough is enough or Jimmy plays really well and prices himself out of SF. Either way you can't pay Jimmy 30+ Million a year. Not for a QB that isn't top 10 and not when you have to pay Bosa and others. I think Niners would have to win the SB for them to even consider bringing Jimmy back and even then it's unlikely because of the price. And for the people who say well we keep saying that but Jimmy is still here, It's not the samething because Jimmy was still under contract.

Doesn't Jimmy have a 2yr contract ?

Enough of the argument that running quarterbacks are not injured more than pocket passers. They are if they run up the middle. Running back have short careers, and quarterbacks aren't built as stocky as running backs.

Yup contact is the variable. Got to keep contact off your QB.. particularly front seven types. If the plan was to pay three ones for an up the gut runner it was a plan stupid beyond words, imo.

Have more faith in his defense. Or his RB's.

I recall we had 12 runs and 3 passes to start the game. Not sure how many of those were read option or design QB runs (minus the Rb runs). But Jimmy did come out chucking and accurate. That throw to Aiyuk was on point and dropped by Aiyuk.

Good point

What? The injury happened in the late 1st quarter, or early 2nd quarter. Are you really just going to extrapolate 1 Seahawks offensive possession and conclude they won't score point? You could have done the same in the Chicago game and end up wrong and lost the game.

This point is ridiculously wrong.

This is now the 2nd game Kyle has ran Trey like a RB. Both games got Trey injured. He obviously intends to use him this way. So how can he possibly say his reason for moving to Trey was Jimmy couldn't stay healthy?

I thought they just ripped up the last year of his contract and re-did it? I never heard anything about him being owed money next year.

Can you remind me how the Chicago game ended?
Shocker... Nobody could have predicted this.

I figured he'd make it to game 3 or 4 before he was out for the year.

I wish him well and hope he recovers.

Purely shanahan to blame for this one.

The narrative now is KS can't keep his own QBs healthy.. or you can say we coincidentally keep having brittle as bleep QBs

Just like it up. It's a 1 yr.
Watch him ball out now and we have no control over his future.
I think criticizing Shanahan for running Trey is ridiculous. It's football. We supposedly drafted him BECAUSE of his "athleticism". You are the same people who will critizice Shanny for not playing to our team's or player's strengths. Well, isn't that what he's doing?? Hindsight wins again

Makes sense. All the predraft stuff seems to be very likely rn. The truth will come out eventually
