I don't think Shanny wanted TL but but was forced to pick him by ownership,
Shanny decides to run the kid like a Gun Run college QB without regard to injury,
he does this as his way to stick it to the man

The Niners is not the Redskins.

Yes that is true. But they were way more polished than trey at the time of the injury. Trey will lose valuable time to work on his craft. Instead he will be rehabbing and when he comes back he will still be a super raw "rookie." This year was gonna be a valuable learning year for trey. Its coo tho, he'll come back a super rookie

You do realize this could have happened on any play, a sack, a rollout, a broken play, he could have injured himself at home, on the practice field, when he's out and about, this isn't a fireable offense, ridiculous, people wanted this element, athletic QB, now we want Shanny gone? WTF? He'll be back(both) next year, this is like Dak's injury, if Dak can come back, so can Trey, his future isn't over, he can still be the franchise QB, people underestimate how far we've come with injuries, medicine, Bosa looks stronger than ever and he tore his ACL, to write Trey off is ridiculous.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda.. the more you contact him the more likely this will happen. We ran him into NFL front sevens like he was made of granite. It was stupid, considering our investment.

Gonna be a long shot for this guy to ever reach the level we hoped for. In year three the guy is going to basically be a rookie still with very little overall qb experience. Instead of progressing to an above average to top 10 we hoped for. Just sucks for Trey and the team in general.

He'll be 23 at the start of next season. Most guys still aren't drafted at that age...

Yup. Back to square 1. He will be learning how to walk again. Not footwork as a qb

Would be nice if Trey had more experience before such a setback though

super young at least

I still just don't understand. I was hoping to see Trey use his legs to move the pocket, play action bootlegs, etc. Not this.
Will the team even hand Trey the starting job next season? I am not even certain at this point.

My heart is broken for this kid. And for the future of this team.

I was just looking through my pre game pictures of Trey...minutes later he's done for the year.

I will say the crowd was chanting, "Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy!" so that was pretty dope.

The future of the team comment is what I was rolling my eyes at.

Future with Trey. He'll heal but you don't think this has a profound effect on our future here?
Shocker come in here and the world is ending. If you've been an nfl fan for any amount of time you're numb to injuries. Do I feel for the kid? Absolutely devastated. Am I bummed because I have waited so long for him to have a legit shot. Absolutely, I think if he could play a few games in a row he was going to settle in well and shut a lot of people up. Is his career over? Absolutely not. Not an ideal situation I'd rather he play all season regardless of outcome, but this will give him more time to refine some of the things we'd hoped would be refined by now and pretty clearly weren't. Is he the only player to not play for 3 years. Nope watching Aaron Rodgers right now and he's a perfect example. Is this Kyle's fault? No it's football people get hurt every week. Am I thrilled the front office had the foresite to sign a guy that's taken us deep in the playoffs twice. Absolutely, this season is ripe for the taking with this defense. And guess what I even saw Jimmy complete some passes outside the numbers today. Everyone calm down. Enjoy the season and we will roll with Trey next year.
All I am hoping for at this point is that the surgery goes well, it's just the ankle, he makes a full recovery, and even if he doesn't play he studies hard hard HARD all season long.

For right now, we still have Jimmy. So the present is still in tact. And if there's nothing permanently physically damaging with Trey's ankle, and he can still focus on his development in ways outside of playing, then the future should MOSTLY be in tact.

The one question mark/concern is how much longer can Trey afford to sit out and not play any regular season snaps?
what is confusing is that Shanny said he liked TL because he was doing in D2 college what the 9ers were doing... but he instead uses his like a HS gun run QB???

Can we stop the "it could happen on any play" stuff? When you drive home drunk and hit a tree, do we say "oh well, any time you drive you could be in an accident" without acknowledging the obvious choices that increased the probability of a bad outcome?

Trey did that last year for Kyle against the Texans in a must win game for us.

Kyle forgot, or doesn't care. Is too stubborn.

I think Kyle might have been disappointed in Trey's development. And the best way to play him and maximize his effectiveness this season is to use him like a HS gun run QB.

We knew the option would be part of the plan as well. It just sucks that he got his foot rolled like that. My sister broke her ankle in a tug-of-war like that once. Kind of a freak injury.
