I understand that you are loyal to Jimmy and think Trey is a bust but to celebrate a 22 year olds season ending injury is pretty f**ked up. He seems like a good guy and I think people forget these are people not little pawns. I don't remember anyone celebrating when Jimmy tore his ACL or got injured in 2020.

Since this fanbase has become so toxic since the 2021 draft. It is just as toxic as the current political climate. You pick a side and root for other side to fail and you for some reason hate the other side with a passion. You don't have to hate Trey to support Jimmy and you don't have to hate Jimmy to support Trey. Celebrating his injury is as disgusting as rooting for Jimmy's injury last year.

People sure did celebrate when Jimmy got hurt in 2021 and Trey was gonna come in.

Celebrating injuries to players, period, is effed up. 1000x more so when they're on your own team.

They did last year and I stated that was disgusting. I said nobody celebrated his injury in 2018 or 2020. This fanbase has become so toxic since the 2021 draft. I mean its always been toxic but it has been extra toxic.

I haven't seen anyone celebrate his injury. Only thing I've seen is people being optimistic and talking about what jimmy can do and just keep things upbeat.

Well said. Pretty sad

I personally haven't seen a single poster celebrating his injury. Im pretty sure that's not thought highly of by the mods either.

You must not have been on any social media platform since the injury. On every single post people are happy he got injured and their QB is in. The post is about our fanbase in general being happy about his injury and being toxic and being happy Jimmy and Trey getting injured the last 2 years

There were several posters who were out on timeout for being giddy about Trey's injury.

There's also a poster who keeps saying all the 49ers players took a sigh of relief that Trey got injured. And that they all know Trey wouldn't take them to the playoffs and with Jimmy g he'll take them to the super bowl.

Toxic since 2021? Come and let me tell you the tale of Alex Smith of the story of Colin Kaepernick.

No one is celebrating the injury. People grand standing on imaginary people to help themselves feel better.

I mean, lets look at it from the other perspective. This board in general talks about the long term investment of the franchise when talking Trey. As we should IMO. We all just have varying degrees as to what that long term is going to look like. People here are more disappointed about his lack of reps and development in the future than they really are about Trey's injury itself. Because they/we are thinking long term.

Short term Jimmy clearly gives/gave us the best chance to win. So if you could care less about the development of 1 single player and are more concerned about team success then yes you would be assumingly think your team just got better because of the injury.

Not all fans are going to view players, team, front office the same. Just like not all fans care about the development of 1 player as compared to the success of the team.

No one cares about social media when other players get hurt. George Kittle included. There have been posters floating around trading him due to injury and not nearly the same outrage. Why? because posters here really don't care about Trey and his injury. They're only focused on his lack of development. Not every fan is going to share that same focus.

He has been hurt seriously in 50% of his starts. Not gonna blame Shanahan but it seems like it will be an issue with him running the ball.
Durability and availabilit6 is an issue already.

That concerns me along with worries about long term mobility issues from this injury.

No kidding, or Steve and Joe, though social media wasn't around then to spread the vitriol. I'm gutted about Trey, and thankful we didn't have to turn to Purdy or Sudfield. I just hope the kid is able to recover quickly and fully from this gruesome f**king heartbreaking injury.

Fanbase has always been on toxic. Before I joined this board I was on another board for 16 years with 50k posts. I can say this fanbase has become extra toxic about Jimmy vs Trey. Maybe it is the rise of social media so I didn't see it on twitter, Instagram or Facebook in 2012. Since older people didn't have social media yet.

Alex and Kap was worse. It went on for years after both were gone. Threat topics became outlawed.

Rise of social media and click bait, merchants or ire. I talked about this on Chapman's show, that there's guys who just want to spark anger because anger equals clicks which equals money.
Social media, news, sports news they've all gone this route.

Its why I liked collabing with Chapman because he isn't about that, I'm not about that. But there's lots of people who are.

You must not be on social media. My post was about the fanbase as a whole not just this board. Not grandstanding on anyone to make myself feel better. To act like there isn't a very vocal about their excitement of the downfall (for lack of a better word) of Trey is absurd. Go get on any social media platform. Once again not talking about only this forum who has less than 1% of the fanbase on it. People on a message board typically have a different outlook than the fanbase as a whole bc they know what they are allowed to post and talk football more often

In that case I'm glad I'm not on a Facebook 49er group. That's messed up.

Not saying this board but in general if you check social media it's out there
