No one is celebrating the injury. People grand standing on imaginary people to help themselves feel better.

You must not be on social media. My post was about the fanbase as a whole not just this board. Not grandstanding on anyone to make myself feel better. To act like there isn't a very vocal about their excitement of the downfall (for lack of a better word) of Trey is absurd. Go get on any social media platform. Once again not talking about only this forum who has less than 1% of the fanbase on it. People on a message board typically have a different outlook than the fanbase as a whole bc they know what they are allowed to post and talk football more often

In that case I'm glad I'm not on a Facebook 49er group. That's messed up.

I've left every single one. Some of those groups have like 200k members and a decemt percentage of commentators are celebrating the injury. Its sickening. You can't base an entire fanbase off of a message board who typically only has between 200 to 300 posters on at a time.

Just rewatched the fateful play. Not a typical zone read with inside zone blocking and the QB keeper means the QB runs to the edge. I don't know what it's called.

Both Trent and Banks pull. The read to keep was correct by Lance because the edge player played the RB (RayRay) handoff. The DT that McG is supposed to downblock got a great jump on the play and blew it up, preventing Trent from pulling and getting to the second level to block the LB that ended Lance's season. So…..blame McG (jk, he was in a tough spot, DT got off the ball fast)

Durability and availabilit6 is an issue already.

That concerns me along with worries about long term mobility issues from this injury.

Because he is young, I think he will be fine. I hope Shanahan builds in other plays that can get us yards and manageable down and distances for Trey next year. These runs gain 1 to 6 or so yards. A dump off to Juice could accomplish the same goal.

Its also pretty disgusting to watch people celebrating his injury on here, Facebook, twitter. I understand that you are loyal to Jimmy and think Trey is a bust but to celebrate a 22 year olds season ending injury is pretty f**ked up. He seems like a good guy and I think people forget these are people not little pawns. I don't remember anyone celebrating when Jimmy tore his ACL or got injured in 2020.

Since this fanbase has become so toxic since the 2021 draft. It is just as toxic as the current political climate. You pick a side and root for other side to fail and you for some reason hate the other side with a passion. You don't have to hate Trey to support Jimmy and you don't have to hate Jimmy to support Trey. Celebrating his injury is as disgusting as rooting for Jimmy's injury last year.

Toxic since 2021? Come and let me tell you the tale of Alex Smith of the story of Colin Kaepernick.

Fanbase has always been on toxic. Before I joined this board I was on another board for 16 years with 50k posts. I can say this fanbase has become extra toxic about Jimmy vs Trey. Maybe it is the rise of social media so I didn't see it on twitter, Instagram or Facebook in 2012. Since older people didn't have social media yet.

Sadly this is true. Irritating to have to hear the they gave up too much takes for another year. No one knows yet and I'm sorry, 3 games ain't enough to judge. Even Ryan Leaf was 2-1 after 3 games. We won't have a clue about Trey till we see about half a season, a full season, and two seasons worth of starts.

Half a season for him to hit his stride and figure out who we are with him at the helm, a year for him to flash a few times and show why he went number 3 overall, and the second year to show some year to year progress. Many people clearly don't want that, but I think the team is good enough now to endure the growing pains and will be even better next year, provided they address a couple holes on offense (RT, C, backup TE) and continue adding talent to the secondary.

Okay. In that case I'm glad I don't use Facebook for football discussion. Also, why would you use Facebook for football discussion. Lol

Not saying this board but in general if you check social media it's out there

My buddy was happy as hell. He just wants to win now and right now Jimmy is better, who cares about lance. He's a very simple fan.

It was the same play Deebo got the 51 yarder on. It's a play Kyle borrowed from Dabo, I believe. The Bills stated doing that years ago with Allen and it's in of their staple plays.

There's a stark line between believing Jimmy gives the team a better chance and being happy a young guy has to have his ankle rebuilt.

You can be one without the other.

Now we'll be starting a 3rd year rookie at QB next year. We'll go into next year with the same questions we had thus year. We've lost 2 years of his rookie contract. The only good part of this injury is that it happened early enough that he'll have a lot of time to rehab. The bad part is he didn't get to play enough to gain any real experience.

That blows. I was sitting behind Trey perfectly lined up and he never saw either one of those defenders because of whomever pulled in front of him. It was like watching an accident on the freeway where the car in front of you dodges an object on the road last second and you have no time to miss it. Direct hit. In fact I never saw the 2nd defender. Thought it was just the first one and he knocked Trey out. Nope. I couldn't believe the report.

similar injury to Dak in 2020 and Trey didn't cry like a big baby like Dak 🤣
Dak came back and took the cowgirls to the playoff last season no problem but loses to Jimmy G at home last season 🤣

Trey is only 22, he will be back next season healthy and Jimmy G will very likely be gone and hopefully a SB winner, payback for all the money he already taken from the 9ers and will be earning the incentives if he does go far this season with the 9ers.

Can't really blame KS for running Trey, Lamar Jackson had 9 rushes for 119 yds and a TD just yesterday, running the ball is one of "young" Treys forte. I would blame Evil Pete and the seachickens more than anything for toxic coaching to hurt 9er players at all cost just to win, Pete is that evil and deserve to lose and retire in shame now Wilson isn't in Seattle anymore.

Notice Deebo has the speed to nuke the LB, a potential TFL, and sprint to daylight. I have yet to see anything like that from TL. He runs pretty stiff. I don't question the ability of Deebo to run but I do question the volume sometimes.. do it sparingly imo. Deebo is more cat quick than TL and that can get you out of a jam. Just my thoughts.

I can admit I did not like the Deebo run as it was happening.. they had him dead to rights on that one.. he reminded everyone he is Deebo made a great play.

Like in here, there are a very very small minority of fans who s**t on Garoppolo. It's personal for them. Then you go to the game and the entire base is chanting, "Jimmy!" Which was awesome BTW. So it doesn't surprise me there is a small loud faction of fans who disparaged Trey and cheered his injury, as sickening as it is.

But will he make it through two consecutive starts without an injury when he returns?

He has been injury prone in his shirt NFL career thus far.

Jimmy already choked and has shortcomings, those are facts and why.

Hopefully Jimmy can get far and over the hump this season now that Trey is down and the team as a whole has been upgraded from last season to get it done.

NEXT MAN UP really, good thing KS and Lynch was able to bring back and keep Jimmy just for this scenario, all bases covered for a continual SB run after just losing in the NFCC last season, is ALL a fan and even the players themselves can ask for so a chance for SB with a SB roster/team isn't wasted another year.
