LOL dude he was injured 2 times in 4 starts because the coach was so haphazard with his play calling. Yah a small sample size but an accurate reflection of his use, per the stats.

maybe he's more injury prone than you want to believe.

Coincidentally all our QBs are injury prone. Like that guy JG. He was very injury prone when he decided to challenge a bunch of defenders vs KC with the boundary right there. TL when he's getting 600 lbs of weight applied to his ankle is quite injury prone I have noticed.

TL plays like he believes he can still do this in the NFL when it's just getting him killed.

It's Tebow style QB running. Steve Young said prior to the SEA game that this can be done at NDSU.. not in the NFL. Broadcasters doing the Bear game questioned what we were doing as well. They said it was too risky considering our investment.

Used as a Running back, not a quarterback, right? If he was used properly, there is a high likelihood that he is not injured. So the injury prone comment relies more on improper usage

Maybe go back and watch Watson's first start... you probably are aware as you know Watson.. he house calls from near 50 yards out. I have yet to see anything remotely like that from TL. We drafted a not very athletic runner who was a bowling ball vs college teams like Butler. We asked him to be a bowling ball in the NFL. Steve Young said before the Seattle game.. you can't do that in the NFL. Correct, Steve. I think Steve's exact remark was he was stiff arming defensive tackles in college. You can't do that vs NFL DTs. Then, a DT basically ended his season. Steve and a lot of ppl saw it coming.

Watson is not more athletic than Lance. The point is he ran the same offense in college and O'Brien allowed him to improvise and run. It wasn't some complex scheme with tons of full read concepts and timing routes. Watson and most young QBs can't do that SO they rely on extending plays and wait for if running if that's first read isn't there or they're feeling pressure.

you didn't watch Lance in college if all you think he did was run QB power all game. He was clocked at over 20 MPH. He's not twitchy like Jackson or fields but he is most certainly athletic and that ability should be used. Just like every team with a QB that isn't a statue calls read options.

the DT shoved our center out the way and basically belly flopped onto his ankle. That has nothing to do with his athletic ability or wanting to stiff arm someone. It was bad luck and here we are. Why people need to find blame in everything is beyond me. Sucks for fans and Lance but all the reports say he's gonna be just fine.

Jimmy had made it through more than 2 games in his career many times.
He also has made it through a season.

But...He is definitely not the most durable guy either.
Trey is going to put on more muscle as he gets older. I can see him getting close to Josh Allen's weight.
In this bad situation, at least we got the great news that the injury is better than Dak Prescott's injury a couple of years ago.

Noted Prescott suffered the injury in week 5, and was a full go at the start of next year's training camp.

When you have Steve saying it's not something you can do in the NFL he was talking about the speed and the size of the players being different than NDSU. He was and is correct. The broadcasters doing the Bear game mentioned we are risking our investment in this man. I was posting I was worried about the designed runs.. I have the receipts. Warning bells were going off for anyone able to see/hear them. It's wasn't bad luck. It was bad usage.

He should inject more bone density into his ankle bones.
Just a ton of living in the emotion of the moment. Looking for blame and being reactionary in here.
can we trade him before the deadline ?

Remember when everyone said Jimmie Ward needs to drink milk lol. Dude was breaking bones all over the place and calling that injury prone which is nonsense.

Yes, they commented on why we were doing QB power runs.

I think Kyle deserves blame for Trey's usage and lack of development these past two seasons but no one is to blame for Trey getting injured. It's football and it happens.

For every Jimmy Ward and Arik Armstead, there is a Jason Verrett and Reuben Foster.
