The broadcasters doing the Bear game mentioned we are risking our investment in this man. I was posting I was worried about the designed runs.. I have the receipts. Warning bells were going off for anyone able to see/hear them. It's wasn't bad luck. It was bad usage.

Steve young who ran like a mad man and told Mike Holmgren he was gonna improvise and run…that's pretty rich lol.

look man I don't want him running QB powers all game. I could careless if we're running read options, that's part of every trams offense and a must when you have Lance.

it was a bad block by our center and a freak injury. Nothing more nothing less.

I think Kyle does need to get some blame for sure. If not some, a ton.

Kyle told us that Trey was a quarterback who can run, not a quarterback who can only run. I wanted to see Trey use his legs to extend plays, manipulate the pocket, and create space for himself. I wanted to see Trey use his legs when the plays break down. I didnt want to see him used the way he was used. And while injuries happen all the time, using him in this manner was just tempting fate.

Very few other "running QBs" were used in this manner.

Naively I thought Kyle drafted Trey because he wanted someone with a big arm able to extend the plays and scramble. Because let´s face it post ACL, Jimmy is a nightmare waiting to happen when he scrambles and outside the numbers he is what he is.
I never wanted Kyle to use Trey like that. I´m sorry but when you watched the game against the Cardinals, you knew that day would happen. If Trey can only do one thing and that´s run up the middle then Kyle should have protected Trey from himself. Or just keep Jimmy as starter.

Why wouldn´t you use Trey like he used Jimmy but with the scrambling ability of Trey on broken plays? Because he´s inaccurate? Because he doesn´t have enough reps? Well he had to learn.
We lost two seasons because of Jimmy´s injuries. Protect your QB Kyle seriously.
When Jimmy made this run at the end I was legit mad.
I think the thing that made me so angry is that we all see it coming.
And you can talk about Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert or call me dumb, I cringe every time I see a QB run up the middle. I hate that.

TBF Lamar has 4.3 speed and isn't stiff.

Trey looks slower than I thought he would be when running, not sure if it's him being hesitant or he's just not AS fast as I thought

He just never has a chance to run in space. Shanahan has him run these dumb read options up the B gap where he has to try and find a lane and juke people into getting a couple extra yards.

In this bad situation, at least we got the great news that the injury is better than Dak Prescott's injury a couple of years ago.

Noted Prescott suffered the injury in week 5, and was a full go at the start of next year's training camp.

Any fracture needing surgery is still bad, but at least it wasn't compound. Hopefully he will have a nice recovery and be even stronger. Dak was ready to go for training camp. Hopefully Lance's recovery is sooner.🙏

He should inject more bone density into his ankle bones.

Remember when everyone said Jimmie Ward needs to drink milk lol. Dude was breaking bones all over the place and calling that injury prone which is nonsense.

If by "everyone" you mean the ridiculous question Grant Cohn asked Saleh, "is it a milk issue?"
yes, that was Grant Cohn.....the same one Kyle snapped at yesterday.

I don't like it for any QB across the board, either. But then I'm an old school pocket passer west coast guy, and the new QB playing style isn't my favorite. I just don't see it as unique to Trey; it's a league wide trend/shift in QB philosophy, mostly born out of worse and worse OL pass protection overall in the league, IMO.

Kyle had to balancing out effectiveness and developing Trey. Trey isn't ready yet to run the offense Kyle envision. If you play him now and want him to be effective enough to stay on the field, you have to run him. Kyle was probably expecting to open the playbook more as the season progressed.

This is all on Kyle for using his QB like a RB and not even telling him to slide. He's not nearly as bright as I thought he was. They need to hire an assistant with experience developing QB's and tell Kyle to just go back to the Jimmy playbook. No more designed QB runs. Kyle is proving he has no idea how to develop a young QB. He hired Brian Greise as QB coach for Lance and he's never even coached before. 🙄

93 to 132 days to recover is not bad given the situation.

132 days from now is late January. Unless there's an unexpected setback he should have a pretty normal offseason program next year, which is positive news.

I mean last game was basically a throw away, I couldn't read anything from that. This game he had two drives. Our center holds his block, he's not hurt. If the defender doesn't run with Ray Ray he's getting the ball.

any QB that can move is and has been used in read options. He didn't get hurt running a QB power. So let's acknowledge that. I also don't want him running those QB powers all the time either but it was a different play call

if I had any issue with Kyle it's the WTF is going on in the 3rd QR every game. I feel like we're awful in the 3rd QB and are always allowing teams back into the game. On a large scale that's play calling.
