We've already lost 2 years with Lance . That means they will probably pick up that 5th year option so they can have 3 seasons for him to learn. I could easily be that 3rd year for him since he's played so little since 2019. I'm guessing they'll want to give him as much time as possible since they invested so much in him.

The more I think about it, I am finding hard to visualize a scenario where TL really succeeds. He will have not played any real meaningful snaps over 3 years of football once recovered and previous to that it is 17 games. Not only does he now have to overcome and server ankle injury ( he is a runner) but he doesnt have any real experience either. Not a exactly a scenario for success. If had played meaningful snaps in a Division 1 conference for 2-3 years, one could possible figure that into a more positive outcome. I am worried.
I might be crazy optimistic, but I think Trey will be in a better situation team wise in 2023. Worse case scenario is if we actually did win the Super Bowl and Trey has to follow that.

Brady is most likely done if he doesn't make SB this year, watch it'll be Jimmy G beating Brady and the Bucs in the playoffs and send Brady to retirement LOL, I mean Brady loss to the Lambs last season in the playoff and almost retired so it wouldn't be shocking but definitely will be funny and entertaining.. 🤣

Not to digress on a Jimy thread but Brady doesn't look good post game interview his face looks skinny, frail and not healthy. That guy is done. The Tampa defense looks amazing though

Most "people" on Twitter aren't even people.

Former niner had this to say

It's not as bad as fans cheering Trey's injury just so they can see Jimmy. To me those are the ones who are not true Niner fans. Because how can any true fan be happy with the future going down with a season ending injury. And I am not even going to get into the other aspect of how low it is to cheer any serious injury like that. To any player, Let alone a player on your supposed favorite team.

And it's not that some fans would rather lose with Trey than win with Jimmy. It's that they just don't feel you can win a SB with Jimmy and would rather sacrifice a year if it means a SB in the future. We see QB's like Allen, Mahomes, Herbert, And we want one of those some day. The verdict is still out on whether Trey can be that guy or not but we know Jimmy isn't.

I was at the game yesterday. Nobody was cheering for Trey's injury. People were angry at Kyle, but the rest of the stadium was silent, then cheered when he sat up and raised his thumbs.

This is a video clip I just uploaded so you all can see what it was like:

Lots of downplaying a guy being injury prone and potentially damaged goods as well.

It is the way of the fans.

Broken bones doesn't equal injury prone. Hate to tell ya. Injury prone is constant soft tissue issues. Kittle might fall in that category.

Damages goods? What is this lord of the flies? Everything being reported is he will be fine. You don't want to wait around for a 22 yr old QB to heal. Well fine that's your choice. I'll bet this coaching staff and ownership does

How many years did Jimmy not play behind Brady?
Rodgers didn't play for 3 years behind Favre.

He's old now what do you expect? Still the GOAT and still a winner but it will definitely suck if the last game he loses is to Jimmy G 🤣 and then Jimmy G gets carried over the hump and win a SB with a championship roster 🤣!!!!

Its not just the injury. His inexperience is as big or bigger problem. Not really playing any meaningful games for 3 years and he lacked competition and games previous to that.

So he will play in 2023 and develop all the same. He didn't look lost at all in his short time. He will be 23, some QBs coming into the NFL are that age. His story isn't over

I've read several articles and they say full recovery in 2023 but no timetable. They should know more about him being ready for OTA's after the season. Right now who knows?
