Exactly, it's not a big deal to sit, learn and mature.
What about Steve Young, he had to wait a long time until the 9ers actually had a good team to win it all with him at QB in 94.
The only reason people are making a big deal about it all, the NOISE, and putting all that pressure on Trey is due to the bored sports media and because they traded 3 1st round picks to draft him.
Those things are meaningless once he was drafted. Some times the best time is divine timing aka God, patience is a virtue, it just wasn't his time this season.

Lots of downplaying a guy being injury prone and potentially damaged goods as well.
It is the way of the fans.
Broken bones doesn't equal injury prone. Hate to tell ya. Injury prone is constant soft tissue issues. Kittle might fall in that category.
Damages goods? What is this lord of the flies? Everything being reported is he will be fine. You don't want to wait around for a 22 yr old QB to heal. Well fine that's your choice. I'll beat this coaching staff and ownership does
Its not just the injury. His inexperience is as big or bigger problem. Not really playing any meaningful games for 3 years and he lacked competition and games previous to that.
This is pretty much a nightmare scenario and a monumental setback for this franchise.

His 5th year option will also probably not be picked up if he does not get up to speed quickly. 40 million+
Already behind the 8 ball, and very little reps.

Agreed.
Kyle wasted his rookie year, then gets him killed In his 2nd year.. what should we expect from him In year 3? Still Inexperienced, still has a question mark over his head. We can only hope that Kyle actually allows him to be a QB and not a Rb

Yeah. Its frustrating half this board saw the problem with these plays up the gut. And it was against an always hard hitting dirty bird pete carrol defense too. Smh.

Niner "fans" all over Twitter wanting to trade him.
do they think we would get our 3 first back? Would we even get a first back?
Capital on Lance has already been spent. It's gone. Plus, he's still young and the injury shouldn't be career ending. Why not let him finish off his rookie contract and see where it goes.

This was always going to be the case. Ready at best by year 3. Which happens to be the year you declare 5th year option

Using him like to full back is just stupid. IF you don't trust him to the throw the ball consistently ( On a 2nd &8 at the Sea 18) then don't play him. Using his legs to make plays and by time is reasonable, but designed run plays up the middle with expected contact with DTs and linebackers coming down hill is ridiculous. I dont think I have every typed a critical thing about Kyle......this was idiotic.

Because most fans are irrational and live in a instant emotional world. Very influenced by media as well

So he will play in 2023 and develop all the same. He didn't look lost at all in his short time. He will be 23, some QBs coming into the NFL are that age. His story isn't over
He is not a senior from the SEC. Playing time is everything. Is the ankle going to be 100% come 2023 training camp. Can he participate in OTAS?
Is he your starter in 2023......i am not at all comfortable with that.

Isn't it after his 3rd year tho? That's they will get a year of play barring injury to make that decision

I have a hard time seeing this team embrace a rookie QB and all that comes with it to be honest.
The jubilation that I see coming from his teammates when Jimmy is in the starting lineup was pretty remarkable.

You would have a hard time getting anything. We were kinda going against the grain of the NFL with a run first QB who we want to do a lot of interior rush stuff.. I don't know any team that's looking for a run first QB.. it's a passing league. What baffles me is if you are going against the grain.. not doing what the rest of the league is doing.. you shouldn't have to pay a premium.. there are a lot of guys with high end run traits who get passed up every year for not being elite throwers.. Malik Willis in round 3 comes to mind. He runs as well or better than Lance imo.. fraction of the cost.
