I'm thoroughly impressed with Trey Lance's poise/maturity and how he's talked about just learning the offense first.

It's not mutually exclusive. Both Lance and Mac can succeed. It's not one or the other.

I was hoping for Fields, but I love the thought process behind this pick. The draft is a crapshoot with no guarantees, which is why I usually favor trading back to accumulate as many chances as possible to hit. if you're going to trade so much draft capital to move up make sure you're taking a big swing. Lance has the potential to be the best QB in the draft. He very well may bust, but I like that Lynch and Kyle swung for the fences on talent.

He was shaking his head bc the other coach asked him if that one overthrown ball changed his positive opinion of Mac.
